In competition? That's fair game IMO. Posting up about how you beat a well known guy by one advantage when you were the last round of a 30 minute shark tank for him in training, and you outweighed him by 50lbs, etc, etc...that short of shit is unbearably obnoxious.

This Wolfman dude is constantly dropping shit like that into the mix to make himself sound better. I tapped this guy and this guy in training, I gave this guy or that guy problems, I leglocked this famous fighter, etc.

He must be dumb if he's been training for 20 years and still doesn't realize that everyone hates him for this exact reason. I mean the dude is a nobody who doesn't compete and came on here demanding to be let into Metamoris, he is utterly, utterly deluded.

He's clearly talking about Marcelo.

And the Mendes bros.

Even than it's different. These guys know they're being taped to be put online and the guys who do it don't have to talk about who they train with.

It's there for the world to see. People who accomplish things don't have to talk about it. That's the problem.

Well if he was referring to them, it's an equally dumb point. People respect Marcelo and Rafa/Gui, etc primarily due to their competition records, no-one genuinely believes they are trying to 'get one over' on dudes in training that they would beat in competition anyway.

So much mud slinging and negative energy.
My Camera have never been hidden. I have put footage up of being tapped just like Marcello. Up to people if they watch my vids or not. I do not care what negative people have to spew.

Grappling starts at 7min

Here is a Submission Series from N/S for those interested. Sorry my cameraman did not get both sides of the chokes/crank but it is about putting all these attacks together

Thank you to those that watch and appreciate techniques.

Dude, what is your malfunction.

Dan, I think you should make a thread and post your videos only in that thread. No posting them in other threads.

I don't know if you have some kind of aspergers or autism or something, but you are clearly missing some blatant social cues.

I genuinely think you can be a welcome and valuable contributor to this forum, but you need to pump the brakes and pull back the throttle.

90% less self promotion (this includes spamming video)

100% less name dropping

You should set a word limit on posts. This might help you to remain concise and on topic. I think 200 words.

You view yourself as a teacher and entertainer. It's fundamental to both of those roles than you understand your audience.

Those three things that I just mentioned are what your audience repeatedly asks of you. You are failing in both roles if you don't adapt.

I will post in the Catch Thread, My own threads or threads made for me, and will post in threads where people are asking for help cert positions/subs/or situations. My two posts above are limited in word count, replying to some of the B.S. people like Calibur want to spread as if my camera was hidden, and such. Otherwise I would rather stick to just vids and technical talk.

Terrific start. And I honestly mean that.

Short post, no video, no name dropping.

Keep up the good work.

Curran Jacobs (USA) vs Amin Nazer (UK) from the recent Catch Wrestling Alliance: Revelation event.

https://youtu.be/saPXyzzetuE

Jacobs was the former captain of Michigan State University DI wrestling team, and has been with Catch Wrestling Los Angeles for about 2 years now.

I believe Nazer trains at The Snake Pit Wigan.

Great match from Matt Tran and LaPorte, as is this match from Curran and Amin.

I really liked the hook-in & power-halnelson that Matt used well. I use it for control and set up a variety of submission-holds like the halfnelson-crank/stretch, bananasplit, toehold/calf-crank, guillotine/twister, hammerlock, or just to get the other hook in.

Curran also had a nice nelson-crank/sretch going on there. What go you guys call that position?

intresting video KJ just got a couple of questions
1)were there chokes allowed cause matt could had got a nice side choke from the back, but i am guessing it's no chokes allowed.

2)i also felt like he could had got an easy armbar from the rear mount would going for the armbar would had put him in a bad position and could had gotten pinned?

3)the last couple of pages made me real sad.

It's weird, they've stressed no chokes or strangles allowed for this particular organisation, but I've also heard that arm-in chokes are allowed. Maybe it's their compromise between tradition and modern submission competitions.

Maybe Tran didn't want to lose position going for a straight arm lock, he had control and pressure with the power nelson and leg ride.

No chokes allowed, BUT those are not allowed in "normal wrestling", still one can do stuff with arm in like katagatame from head-and-arm or "Shultz front head lock" ect. I dont think its a compromise, just a simple rule. One can squise the neck if arm is involved.

With standard "jujigatame" armbar its easy to get pinned.

Nice stuff! The straight arm is one of the first subs you learn under Frank Shamrock's system. Couple things I noticed or wonder about.

First is you seem to get on your elbow but not fully, this seems to lesson the depth of your lever.

Second is do you not adjust your grip from the DWL/Kimura grip once he defends and slides into the straight arm? If not why? Do you see more failure when you slide your grip around for the straight arm? Or do you just feel no adjustment is needed since you feel how secure it is.

Here is. Quick vid that shows how much more angle you get being high up on the point of the elbow and also how much more trapped your opponents arms is.

Hopefully this works I'm on my mobile.

That was a nice match to watch, Seeing a Japanese Arm Through countered by a Bulldog Choke Chancery was cool, as was the Single Leg Riding with Laces in on other leg and power half. The crossface aka Exorcist Neck Crank that he finished is because of hips and spine direction. I did a vid on it years ago, then Aoki won with it at Dream 17, then another Evolve guy in One, then Frankie Edger vs Cub fyi.
Here is vid from turtle I just filmed a bit ago if you want to understand finish better

Post length : 10/10

Name dropping : 5/10 (You referenced names, but not in a familial way. I think, however, given your struggles, there should be an all or none threshold.)

Video abuse : 0/10 (Come on Dan, you can do better)

Overall : 15/30

That's an F. If you would have refrained from posting that video, and simply put it up in your own video thread, your post would have been a 25/30.

That's a B. All you have to do, to go from an F post to a B post is leave out the video.
