Carlos Prates is futurr of WW division

Lmao. Hes young and still improving by miles between every fight
He's 31 years old. He's as good as he's ever going to get.

Which is Pretty Good, but not Great.

Yeah, and The Leech is not very good.

Still outstruck Prates.

Prates looks good against mediocre competition. The hype ends tomorrow. Garry is by far the best fighter he has ever faced.
leech did not outstrike prates, prates took it slow then pieced up leech when he found his timing and range

yeh Prates is the future of this division. a scary dude. I get the feeling if he wasn't in MMA he would be a murderer in real life.

He got MS13 vibes

I think it's morales

I think Micheal Morales has the most upsides of any fighter currently ranked in the top 10. He's 25, 17-0 in MMA, Just finished Magny about to fight burns.

After burns he could be 2 fights away from a title fight, Should he find himself winning againstt burns and 2 more for a title fight, he'd be 20-0 at 26~ years old, 7-0 in the UFC

Another hype job thread. The guy KO'ed Leech who was coming off a 2 yr lay off and Neal Magny. He hasn't beaten anyone relevant in the division yet and all of a sudden he's champion material. Give me a break.. please..

Ian Garry worked intelligently throughout. Prates looked like he had pacing issues in the first 3 rounds. It seemed like low output even for him. I don't know if it was a combo of Ian keeping him guessing + Prates being overly patient for most of the fight, or if he wasn't confident enough in his cardio to pull the trigger much earlier. (His first time in a 5R MMA match). I haven't heard what Prates has to say about his performance yet.

Very impressive game-planning and execution from Garry. Prates has such great single shot accuracy and power and his TDD is unreal. Garry banked the first 3 and stayed largely out of danger. Prates showed he's a killer even in the final seconds of the 5th round. That 5th round reversal and top control to GNP was awesome. I think if Prates would've been more aggressive earlier on, he wouldn't have had rounds stolen from him and might have put Garry away before that final bell. As a Prates fan, it was painful to see him run out of time as he had Garry on the ropes but it's his own damn fault.

Either way, both guys showed off their talent and with a few adjustments, both these guys could be WW champs some day. The 5th round was thrilling.

Didn't he just lose? To someone people are saying has no future in the top 5 of the division?

I think Prates showed last night that he is a legit top 10 guy. And he didn't really lose in a way that hurt his stock too much.
