I think that much is already a given. She may not be the solution, but she will be part of the solution.

I suspect she might well be what gets the plot moving again? I mean as it is now the Avengers don't really have an obvious course of action with Thanos vanished to parts unknown to them.

I really hope Marvel don't fall into the trap of lazy political pandering like the Starwars sequels have, generally to me that tends to be the sign of lack of writing ability which you couldn't really accuse them of thus far.

I mean I didn't think Black Panther was perfect but I wouldn't say that was an issue with it.

As for acting i really can't say who's better/worse.
Maybe Marvel's pitch is to not have someone unbelievably hot as Captain Marvel to avoid direct hotness competition with Wonder Woman and the Black Widow.

I used to love Neve Campbell. She’s from my area and first caught her in a show called Catwalk. Have never seen the nudes and I’m afraid to see after reading these comments.
I know she has a movie with the Rock coming out this summer too

Originally Burton cast Annette Bening to play Catwoman but she got pregnant and was replaced by, I think his original choice, Michelle Pfeiffer. It wobbles my mind they're now both in the MCU.

Bening’s a very good actress. Cool to see her in a blockbuster type movie.

She's a stud. I hope they let her do something interesting.

Hopefully though Feige's verbal fapping over her doesn't translate into 10 years+ of the MCU being saved by a character no one has any reason to care about until right before the movie comes out. I just hope it's a full team effort ending to this chapter of the MCU, and not bit parts with a 1v1 vs Thanos ending.

Yea I don't they would do that. Would be silly to have the whole Avengers + everyone else basically manhandled and then have her come in and 1 v 1 Thanos. I think she'll be the one to get everyone back together and possibly come with a plan.

That's a trip. I like Bening a lot, but I'm glad Pfeiffer got that role, she was prefect.

As I recall it, Pfeiffer wanted too much so they got Bening who was on a rise starting with THE GRIFTERS, but at the last minute they discovered there was no way to make her fit in the suit as she gained pregnancy weight. At that late stage, they had no choice but to pony up to Pfeiffer's asking price.

Yeah no way she will take down Thanos 1 vs 1 but she will be integral to getting The Avengers back in the game and it would be cool to see her and Thor have to fight Thanos.

What I think would be cool is if Clark Gregg aka coulson appears in the next one. I think that would be a nice full circle back to phase 1. Given that Captain Marvel is clearly involved with SHIELD and Fury/Hill are gone, coulson revealing he’s still alive to the original avengers and introducing them to Danvers would be a pretty legit moment- provide some spark to the Avengers who are in need of some inspiration. Considering his death was the conceit that brought the Avengers together for the big fight scene of the first film, I think it would be a cool element.

I'm guessing part of it is PR, Wonderwoman was really the only PR black eye Marvel has had from DC in recent years and he's likely keen to push her as a counter to that and claims of sexism.

You look at the way Infinity War went as well and I think it strongly suggests the sequel is not going to be focused on the new character. I mean the Russo''s spent two films before this heavily focused on Cap and his relationships to Widow and Stark yet we don't see much of that here whilst the cast is specifically slimed down to potentially focus on it next time around.

What I would say though is that Marvel are probably going to be a little wary of the Infinity War sequel being too much of a "full stop" to the franchise thus far, wrapping up everything too neatly potentially risks audiences thinking it might be a good point to stop watching, especially if characters like Cap or Stark are die/retire. Your likely to see something introduced that naturally carries forward into future films.
