People who think Canelo is too big for Crawford don't know shit. Here are the facts:

1. Canelo is heavier than Crawford by 10 lbs at most
- Crawford officially stepped in the ring at 170 lbs against Madrimov;
- All the official reports during Canelo's career indicate he weighs in the 170s lbs.
- Eddie Hearn (who was Canelo's promoter) said he would be "180 lbs at most" against Bivol.
- In the post-fight press conference after beating Kovalev, Canelo said he could still make 160.

2. Crawford weighs the same as Golovkin who fought Canelo 3 times
- Golovkin officially weighed 170 lbs a month before the first Canelo fight (the contractual limit was 176).
- Canelo could never hurt Golovkin in 36 rounds (despite Golovkin being litterally 40 in their third fight).
- If Golovkin wasn't too small for Canelo, Crawford (who weighs the same) can't be too small either.

3. Canelo couldn't even finish Jermell Charlo
- Charlo fights at 154, just like Crawford, except he's garbage compared to Crawford.
- Charlo went all 12 rounds against Canelo. In fact, all of Canelo's last 5 cherry picks went all 12 rounds.
- Crawford is leagues beyond all of them. He's also the same height as Canelo and has a longer reach.

4. Actual boxing experts explaining why Crawford will win

Coach Mustafa Meekins from Atlanta:

Coach Stephen "Breadman" Edwards:

Timothy Bradley Jr.:

So are you arguing that Canelo is justified in fighting Crawford instead of a worthy super middleweight? Or are you making your case for a Crawford upset?

Canelo has been fighting at SMW for the last 4 years, Crawford has been fighting at ww. Crawford has had one fight a weight class up from that, Canelo has had two.

168-147 = 21 lbs

Math isn't that hard.
I'll teach you something, you crayon-eating, blinker fluid-buying goon: when 2 people fight each other, what matters is how much those 2 actually weigh, not the weight at which other irrelevant fights took place at.

Canelo used to fight at 140, 147, and 154. Golovkin fought his whole career at 160. Do you think Canelo was outweighed by Golovkin? No, he was actually heavier than Golovkin.

Also, Crawford just revealed he was 186 lbs right now, and still ripped. He might actually outweighs Canelo in September.

Look what woke culture has done to you: instead of taking people's speeches at face value, you're always inquiring about their ulterior motives, innuendos, and implications.

I'm just proving to you Canelo is barely heavier than Crawford since most people mistakenly believe Canelo is much heavier than Crawford. That's all there is to it.

Trolling then, gotcha.

In all seriousness, I think Bud deserves the payday, and I hope he wins. Not that I have anything against Canelo, I just don't think his heart is in it anymore.

It's going to be a much better fight than people think, IMO.

Past a certain point, weight has diminishing returns in its ability to affect a fight. There's so much focus on Bud's weight that a lot of analysts are missing the forest for the trees: Bud's an exceptional fighter all over.

He completely dismantled Errol Spence, and that was supposed to be a competitive fight.

I give Canelo a slight edge, but this isn't going to be a cakewalk by any stretch. Bud's ability to switch hit is going to cause problems.

No matter what opinion you have, you're always so militant about it. Sometimes it can be hard to tell if you're serious or trolling because you seem genuinely bothered that someone would dare disagree with you everytime it comes up. Look inward, calm down a bit.

Crawford is gonna win, but not because he switches stance. He used to fight orthodox for a few rounds before realizing it doesn't work and switching back to southpaw. Nowadays, he just fights southpaw right out of the gate.

Crawford will win because Canelo cannot deal with boxers with great footwork who can also hit back. Floyd schooled him, Bivol schooled him, Lara schooled him for 4 rounds straight until he stopped punching for whatever reason.

Crawford will do exactly what Floyd and Bivol did for 12 rounds and Lara for 4 rounds: neutralizing Caenlo's offense with superior footwork and countering the shit outta him.

Khan was beating him handily as well

What you arent mentioning though, its not just about weight, Canelo is a much much bigger person than Crawford physically, and if Crawford cant hurt Canelo, which i dont think he can, that will negate a lot of things. When a fighter realises the opponent has not physical threat, that changes the fight completely, and i dont believe Crawford hits hard enough to stop Canelo in his tracks

Admittedly I have stepped away from boxing for a while now. I find it hilarious that people put so much stock in what a fighter says he weighs. The only weights that can be trusted are official weigh ins and those observed by commissions. Gamesmanship dictates a fighter should lie to his advantage.

True, but nothing has been debunked.

You do realize it took Canelo years to put on weight before he fought Golovkin? It's fine to have an opinion or make a prediction but you're acting like you're Punxsutawney Phil or some kind of big shot.

I didn't bother posting it in the other thread this subject came up but even your source thinks Canelo will have a substantial weight advantage.

I think Crawford can win but he's going to have to play a lot of defense and stay focused for the entire fight.

Crawford is way too small, i dont care what his weight is, he had one fight at a bigger weight(154lbs) and struggled, Canelo has fought light heavyweights and been competitive, the last time Canelo fought at that weight was 2016

it sounds like a narrative to give Canelo a lot of credit for beating a much smaller fighter

I didn’t mention a single weight a fighter said he was. What number are you referring to?
