Food & Drink Can you judge a person based on their ordering habits at a restaurant?

100 Percent. Whether hosting or being taken out to break bread IS An Event to be remembered. Your Dining Appearance, Manners, and Behavior Will be center stage at some point.

My Pop taught me that some people may never be able to comfortably afford a great meal at a nice restaurant. As host, give thanks for joining you on this special occasion and (if you can afford it) ask them to please order whatever it is they care to eat and drink.

Character of guest will soon be on display.

I'm not the pickiest steak eater. I don't trust most restaurants so I do medium. Well done doesn't bother me at all but if the person is doing a well done filet mignon I might have a problem

My last date ordered a quarter pounder weith fries...i questionned myself since i ordered a big-mac with poutine.

I dated a girl who was way too good of a cook for her or anyone with her to get any enjoyment out of going out to eat no matter how good the place was.

Nothing was every cooked right, ingredients were never good enough. Something was always sent back and a couple times she got really mad and went back in the kitchen herself to show them how its done. One time we got kicked out before I could finish my food and the other time they offered her a job on the spot to which she seemed to get even more offended by.

Only part that bugs me is the packets of sauce brought from outside. Just seems wrong, especially at a nice restaurant.

But no, if they like it we'll done, that is their business, doesn't mean much about them

Going back in the kitchen is psychotic behavior! That's grounds to be 86ed forever. What other crazy things did this girl do.

Was she like that in bed? All demanding. What are you doing not like that . Put that over there , no like this. Geez lemme just do it myself.

Oh screw that. I'm not a chef but know my way around a kitchen well enough, it takes a lot for me to send food back. Like if it's quite a pricey restaurant and they overcook a steak that they've asked how I would like it cooked. I can count on one hand how many times I've sent food back, and I've always tried to be really discreet about it.

One good thing Holland did when I was living there was knowing how to cook a steak, I think there was only one restaurant who asked. Always perfectly seasoned and always perfectly cooked.

The only things I really judge are 1) if he/she orders the most expensive thing on the menu after it's already been established that I'm paying. That's kind of a dick move, and that'll probably be our last date. 2) if he/she is a dick to the wait staff. At that point, not only is it a sure thing that they're a dick, but they are either too stupid or too inconsiderate to even pretend to be nice, and in either case I don't really care to see them again.

I could write a book about the crazy things she did, she was a kickboxer who worked construction. At first I thought it was pretty hot dating this bad ass take no shit get er done kinda girl, but that quickly backfired.. for instance

she made me take off and land a small plane on the back of a flatbed while her dad matched the speed going down an empty field with nowhere near enough room to land a plane without doing this. This was to see if I was man enough to date her, driving around town with her wasn't much different, felt like every drive was an audition for the fast and the furious.

to teach me a lesson she had someone steal and part out my truck, luckily that guy is now behind bars.

broke up after what was supposed to be a romantic get away. She decided i was cheating on her because I cut my hair a way she didn't like so she went to the hotel lobby and and checked out on both our behalfs and told security the reason was because some crazy guy snuck into our room and refused to leave. Left out the fact the guy who snuck in(me) was the guy who paid for everything. Long story short security kicked my ass because my drunk ass refused to leave a room I paid good money for and never gave permission to be checked out.

Yeah I don't get it, even if it's not the way I wanted I don't act like an asshole, I will still eat it but make sure i mention it when it comes time to pay

I wasn't really a steak expert but found it a bit weird on our first date that husband ordered his rare. Then I tasted it and now understand why a filet steak (if you trust the establishment) is best rare or blue.

Not too proud to admit being a food snob and would definitely look down my nose on someone sho CHOSE to order an overcooked flip flop steak. Moo Cow Lives Matter.
I have a Mexican who works for me as a programmer, took him to dinner on a trip, he ordered his steak well done. I was shocked but he said it's a Mexican thing or something to have meat well cooked. I ordered a second steak for him medium rare just to try.... And that well done steak didn't get touched after he tried it.

I think everyone should get what they enjoy but rare or medium rare steak, depending on the cut, is something people should at least try.

You lost me at mayo and mustard packs she brought herself.

She’s for the streets.

I think you know me well enough to know I'm not uncouth food wise but I do put a jar Colman's English mustard in my handbag sometimes to go to a restaurant. American mustard isn't quite the same with a steak, I don't make a song and dance about getting out but the condiments aren't quite up to scratch sometimes.

That’s fine. At least it’s a jar. Not some ghetto packs, lol.
