Can Strickland cause Izzy problems with his aggression+volume?

When Adesanya is in his safe game, he usually relies on the fact that he can damage an opponent with leg/high kicks, and duck any offence/counter.
Strickland might be the most aggressive, coming-forward opponent of his since Romero. Unlike Romero though, he has a veyr high volume of jabs and combos, and he also might mix it with takedowns (rarely but happens).

I'm not sure that Adesanya can dodge it all. Strickland has an ability to outwork opponents, even if judges don't always see it (like in Cannonier fight)
Maybe Adesanya should aim for the finish, as Stricklands chin is far from being iron...
Strickland vs Romero comparison is like comparing Apples to a Mac Truck. Yoel has the volume of a sloth and the power of a Bison. Strickland has the power of a sloth and the volume of a jack russel. Izzy stood with Poatan and KO'd him dead. He was TKO'd standing by Poatan in their first fight not even knocked down and TKO'd. Izzy will have no fear of Strickland's power and will most likely KO him dead. Sean's only chance is Izzy playing the role of Luke Rockhold and Sean sneaking some brass knuckles into his glove.

Izzy by whatever he wants. If Strickland fights Izzy like the way he fought Pereira he gets KO/TKOed too. But my guess is Strickland won't do that and he will just get picked apart. Still probably gets stopped if Izzy pushes for a stoppage

if Sean wrestles he has a good chance. but since he had that motorcycle incident, he doesnt wrestle as much. guessing his knees arent in the best shape.
purely striking? i dont see how Sean does this. Izzy is very long and very good at countering. Sean has good defense but his reach is a lot shorter so he's gonna have to constantly be wading into Izzy's range to connect. and i dont think Izzy will just let him do that.
i predict Izzy TKO in the 3rd or 4th round if he fights more aggressively. other than that probably a lopsided UD.

Strickland is about to eat knuckle sandwiches at the counter for 5 rounds or until he’s caught. The fight won’t be close.

He will trigger him at the presser making him make mistakes a la Aldo VS Gregor

I'm daydreaming, but seeing Izzy get knocked out by Sean Strickland would be a delight

I expect Strickland to get knocked out early rounds.
Too linear and predictable for someone as agile as Izzy

I just don't see it. Strickland doesn't have big power. Just because guys like Poatan and Jan had success walking Izzy down doesn't mean Strickland can duplicate that. Those guys have real power. I hope it's a great fight but honestly, stylistically this feels like a super easy match up for Izzy. But... I've said that about fights in the past and been dead wrong so let's see how it plays out.

According to other MMA fighters Strickland had trained with, he’s an absolute animal on the ground. If his wrestling has improved and he shoots sone well tines takedowns it might be closer than ppl think

Purely striking he just does not have the diversity or power to give Izzy problems. Not like Izzy has a cardio or chin issue

I think Strickland is a live dog here. If he plays it safe at range he will get leg kicked into a living hell since he's pretty open for kicks at range against other strikers and he's a bit easy to angle away from since he's so punch heavy but he's very capable of doing what KG did if he's willing to. This is the man who arguably won a striking match against Cannonier... he's legit and arguably has the best hands at MW now with Pereira moving up.

Izzy has struggled with the jab of Pereira and Whittaker and Strickland has a great jab that will be there to help him cut angles if he's willing to push like iron chin KG did I believe his pressure, high count combos and funky angles will be enough to make Izzy uncomfortable.

I'm biased but I've been studying the hell out of Izzy, Strickland and Pereira..... I really do believe if Strickland approaches this right he'll make it a dog fight win or lose.

Strickland is Winning in Life!

He's made it to a Title Fight against a worthy Champion, thru hard work and company-man loyalty.

He's almost as successful as a Sherdogger.

Izzy is in a different stratusphere with striking. It's hard to be a modern day Keith Jardine in today's age. Izzy has length, reach, height, superb striking... not sure what the gameplan would be for Strickland here.

That's what I am guessing. Izzy relies on his swift hooks and energy release for fighters that get close to him in order to take back control of the pace. Problem is, Strickland seems like he is fairly comfortable in close engagement now and won't be as flustered as other fighters were, making Izzy's energy dump work in his favor.

Strickland is a basic fighter. Not particularly skilled, not particularly technical.
Also has 0 power, and isn't really a threat anywhere.
He's a template for something greater. A template.

Izzy has his wicked way with him via any means he chooses.

This seems like the perfect style matchup for Israel. Not saying Strickland isn't a capable and dangerous guy but he's going to be a carcass on a hook for Adesanya if he doesn't have anything to keep Izzy guessing. He's not known for takedown attempts, varied kicks upstairs and down, or wrestling, submission grappling. If all Izzy has to look out for is head & body punches and the occasional low leg kick, I expect Izzy to let loose on the head, body and legs with his punches and kicks, with the only real concern being to pace himself. Sean "walking him down" will look like a slab of meat on a conveyor belt heading to the grinder.

Most recently, we saw Pereira bring the best out of Adesanya and the worst out of Strickland.

Strickland is quite literally the perfect matchup for Izzy. Overly aggressive and predictable, doesn't mix in takedowns and nothing special about his takedown ability, stubborn, and pillow fists.
