Can Ronda Handle a Striker?

To beat R3 you need tdd, great striking and lotsa cardio cos it will be gruelling and very physical in the first 2/3 rounds... I feel r3 has potential problems with cardio with such a big weight cut that havent really been exposed...that said nobody in the division can do that at all and my opinion of the cyborg fight has changed so r3 is pretty much untouchable till she meets her Weidman (she'll retire before that)

Are you basing her having cardio problems off of her past fights or just the weight cut?

I don't think she'd have any cardio issues but I do think that'd be her opponents only real hope.

This is a nonsensical response.

Also I noticed you still haven't shown me a time Cyborg quickly KOed her opponent.

Note: the time she got busted for PEDs doesn't count.

i have never stated that she has quickly koed her opponent.i just think eating punches and kicks and knees from cyborg is a bit different than the women she has faced up until this point.

I feel like if a more solid striker (with some takedown defense) went up against her they would find far more success. Thoughts?

Not a lot of legit challengers to R3 currently.

Rondas striking is light years above everyone she's fought so far and I'm sure if someone's giving her trouble in the stand up a quick judo toss and armbar ftw

I still stand by my statement that Miesha did damn well in striking. If a good, strong boxer were to get in the pocket with her I think they would fare far better. Someone tough like Pena.

Pena? She has had a few fights, but fought no one close to Ronda, she would lose and get thrown to the back of the line.

I never said you stated Cyborg KOed people quickly. I stated that she didn't finish opponents quickly which is why she wouldn't be a threat to Ronda. You responded with 'lol, take a look at this guy.' I requested that you show I'm wrong since you were so quick to dismiss my comment.

LOL, she got tooled by Meisha striking. As soon as she fights someone that Dana didn't find working as a truck stop waitress, the golden girl will LOSE bad. Good thing for her Dana won't sign any decent 135 lb women.

I think Davis get too much of a bad rap for what happened with Ronda. I don't think Davis has a chance against Ronda if they ever fought again but Davis is way better than average in the division, she is actually quite good compared to the other women. Ronda just make her look bad.

I agree with this. I think Davis and McMann are far above th rest of the division, just Roasey is just crazily ahead of them.

13 of the top 15 women's bantamweights in the world (according to the Women's Unified Mixed Martial arts rankings) are already signed by the UFC. The 2 not in the UFC are Tanya Evinger and Pannie Kianzad. Who else would you suggest?

It's a moot point, she'll never face one.

WMMA is a 1-woman field. Holm is apparently a great striker...apparently. Like McMann was a great wrestler. And got a short, generic knee to the body before folding. Holm will get punched once, go into her shell, get tripped and submitted inside 40seconds.

It's the equivalent of Cody McKenzie fighting dudes off the street in title fights. I've never felt so uncomfortable watching MMA as when Rousey beat Alexis Davis. It was like they'd pulled a random girl from the crowd and said 'go in there, try and punch the other girl'.

No, not at all. The other UFC title holders are upper tier athletes who are fighting with upper tier athletes and that is why they are all in a situation where they could lose their title on any given fight. Ronda is an upper tier athlete in a weight class with subpar athletes. Ergo, she is the one UFC champ who in the next two years at least has nothing to worry about. On her worst day she does not have a threat from any kind of specialist or well rounded fighter because none of them are gonna be good athletes.

so your saying olympic wrestler Sara mcmann, kaufman and Davis etc use to be waiters that Dana decided to just sign one day.
whatever makes you sleep at night. however it amazes me how delusional people can be when in denial.

im on team ronda, ill be rooting for her to defeat cyborg. I still think that she is super tough and dangerous, and dont say with confidence that she is "no threat"

Jessamyn Duke would destroy R3 if she ever betrayed her

World class standup

i think everyone felt that way. Its to the point youd rather see a girl who is tough, regardless of their talent, than a girl who might look talented but folds after the first real strike.

Watch Alexis Davis vs Sarah Kaufman 2, Alexis is tough Ronda just has 'next level' explosion and power for a woman.

A-LEVEL ATHLETE.

I guess I should have looked over my last response better. I meant to say a significant threat to Ronda. Everybody is a threat in a fight. That was my mistake.

However I stand by assessment that Cyborg's striking as it stands (reliant on volume punching) isn't anymore of a threat than any other striker Ronda may face.

If someone is going to beat Ronda standing Ronda has to be taken out quick with one or two hits. Otherwise the fight will go to the ground and thats all she wrote.

Cyborg simply hadn't shown that ability to take someone like Ronda out quickly.
