Furthermore, thanks to the rise of the Internet and websites like arrangement finders, back pages, Craigslist, etc. there are a shit ton of guys out there that are married to former prostitutes and don't even know it.

Yes, I do. As far as I am concerned, the only thing sex should be traded for is sex itself. Not money, not prestige, not status...just sex.
 
All women love feeling, they love feeling good. Being a prostitute doesn't make you some dry bag of sand. Every woman has her own way of being loved or feeling loved. An old friend of mine who passed away in the 90s used to be a screenwriter lost family because of his alcoholism he also got fired from his job so he decided to go to Vegas to basically drink himself to death. According to the attachment theory, future relationships are based on relationships of your caregiver. The problem is that a random girl will never reach the same love as parental love. Obviously due to various factors, there are some situations that don't fit into this theory.
