Californians

I didn't say you were moving for politics. I just said that the left wing politics of California affects your energy grids out there and people are moving away because things are better for them elsewhere
I'm not moving because of that either.

Gotcha. Everything should be underground here so we don't have to worry about the wildfires and overhead cables setting them off, considering it's Silicon Valley and rich in that respect, very little is being put in to fix a very long term infrastructure problem. It will cost flippin millions but every year it's like putting a bandaid on a bullet hole. I don't get affected by the wildfire power outages at least being I'm way into the city.
Doesn't help that (don't quote me on this) PG&E have filed for bankruptcy twice.
Still getting used to fires being a year round danger out here. Seems like just the desert winds are enough to mess with the power on some days. Usually it's out during hours I'm sleeping, and I wake up to 20 notifications that the power WAS out earlier.

Nope. I don’t have PG&E except for gas. My electricity is provided by someone else. I rarely have problems. Maybe once a year.

My friend mentioned power went out for a bit yesterday she is in Marin I believe.

We've just signed up for an alert thingy so hopefully we'll get a text. When it all went haywire last year I was getting texts from friends or Facebook messages/whatever. No one seemed to know it was coming last night.

If it happens tonight when I'm cooking my ostrich steaks I'm going flippin postal.

Not me but my friend's power went out around for over 12 hours. She got a hotel room, it was too hot without a fan in her apartment.
Husband's nephew posted a picture of his fan, with two ice block things that you put in an ice box on the front, another nephew said he was doing it wrong and the ice blocks should be on the back so it draws the cold through. Redneck ingenuity.

Paradise lost

Lmao, it was such an awesome place. It was it's own little place. Felt like an island. We called it The Ridge. Two immense canyons on either side. It was a blade of Earth pushed high I to the sky. There were so many incredible things up there.

I know people that were born there and had never left. Not even for a day.

Crazy.

I got an advisory that it could happen but there was no outage in my area
We've signed up for the texts now, but it came out of nowhere compared to the wildfire shut downs.

That sucks. Move to Texas like Joe Rogan did. Texas energy is pretty reliable and we have the power to choose and change providers easily for the lowest rates
Don't tell Californians to move to Texas! They'll turn your state blue and ruin it just like they did California!

Any of you have a power shut down last night?

We didn't have a warning but PG&E shut down parts of San Jose last night for an hour. It was 104f in Mountain View last night when I stopped for groceries, mental.

@HeLLMuTT @Lethal ?
Not this time, but they got us last year. It only took once for me to see the writing on the wall. Called an authorized Generac dealer the next day and had a standby Generator installed. Wife and I both work from home so power is a necessity.

I might think about it, I thought we were doing okay swerving it being we don't have any wildfire issues in Willow Glen.

I'm lucky enough to not have to deal with PG & E or the shitty L.A.D.W.P. in that is L.A county.

in long beach we have southern california edison which remained top notch for maybe 2 decades. usually a black out will not last more than a 4 hrs.
