I have two large external batteries for electronics so you basically just wait it out. some people bust out the generators.

Not yet but its likely our power will go out sometime this week because of the humid heat wave and everyone using their AC on the block.
Last time we had a scorching summer like this our block lost power for an entire day and a half all my frozen food started melting in the freezer, the milk starting going bad. No AC nothing, it was so bad.Everyone was using their AC and the power went out for a little over a day.
The worst part is I was able to get my favorite ice cream treats the morning right before the power went off and was looking forward to them in the evening after my grilled steak and they all melted
I ate as much of the ice cream as I could.

@fingercuffs what's your electricity bill each month? Is it predictable? Mine varies widely by like $175, and I have no idea why. I was gone for like 2 weeks and unplugged all the major appliances last month, and my energy bill was almost identical for that month compared to the one before. No idea...

Man. I miss my smoker. It used to be a ritual on a Friday night to marinade pork butt, ribs or brisket to smoke for hours on a Saturday.

That sucks fingercuffs. We had power outage here in Indiana that 20,000 people where out of power which sucks I already didn't have air conditioning.

Yep, SoCal alone has about 80 percent of CA's population. There are like 20+ million living in SoCal, this area was never intended to support this amount of people..EVER

I’ve been there before, a dude I know is on a fire helicopter crew. When he told me how bad it was, shit broke my heart man. We ate the the Black Bear cafe the last time we were there and my son had his graduation ceremony from the lineman school there.

My roommates told me no blackouts so far, we're downtown in the Hensley neighborhood.
I've been at valley medical since Thursday. I was making lunch on Wed round 1130 and had a seizure, which happens to me every few months but the way I fell on my right leg I ended up both dislocating and breaking a bone in my ankle. Also broke my fibula in the lower right leg. Never dislocated or broke anything before. The x-rays are awful.
They had to relocate the ankle bone once on Thursday and 4 times yesterday because it kept slipping out of place. Super unstable. They had to do surgery to drill screws and bars to my leg to keep that foot in place till the swelling goes down. Then they will do another procedure.
I was awake for those resets and have never endured pain like that. Sucked like a mofo. They gave me 2 pops of morphine, a pop of fentanyl and I was still screaming and passed out during the the 1st relocation on Thursday. Yesterday they loaded me up with Dilated an oxy and it still didn't help at all.
Did that nightmare 5 times, words don't really tell what it was/is like. Hospital staff is really awesome and has kicked ass... Definitely kicked my ass that's for sure.
Here's a pic from yesterday in the middle of one of the resets. This Dr was pretty badass she didn't hold back at all. See how the two ends of my lower right leg are tied and being pulled in two different directions? They were doing live x-rays during this.
So yeah good times.

Mateface holy fuck!! I can't believe what I'm reading! Which hospital were you in, ? I had the most (not nice, you get what I mean) in Los Gatos at El Camino. Obviously not nice being put under but they were lovely.

Over at valley medical center on bascom ave. Big hospital but yeah the staff is really making this ordeal a lot nicer.
Ive got a few months of rehabilitation ahead.
Just trying to deal with it. Real freaky to look at my leg and see metal bars screwed into my leg and foot.

I only went there for surgery, my treatment was in Campbell.
I didn't know this of you. Considering how awful we all are at the moment, we can all use an extra friend so yell out to me if you need anything.

That's really appreciated, I haven't been medically allowed to drive the last 12 years and I'm definitely going to be handicapped for a little bit with no biking or walking at all.
