Cain’s son was abused and the culprit was granted bail; and could possibly have been free all this time because his trail is not until June. Are we ignoring the child molestation allegations; which means the one shot was driving a phile who committed those acts in his home? Joe Paterno got cancelled for not doing more when someone who had already been investigated (and no criminal charges were filed), yet this man sees no red flags and drives this suspect home (where he’s been accused of molesting innocent children)?

You talk as if molestation allegations were by default true, and if that believing the other person is guilty somehow licenses Cain to open fire at a vehicle carrying civilians. It does not and you are a jackass if you think otherwise.

Did it ever occur to you that the person in the car was the accused person's father, and that he is not guilty for anyone else's crimes? Did it occur to you that there were other people in the car, and he could have killed someone innocent, including a child?

You know, you have me thinking about this. I was just thinking he would have high points for that crime, but I am remembering you also get a lot of extra points for being young and also being young the first time you were convicted. His score is based on a combination of factors that custody staff review when he is placed. Being an older guy with no priors, his case manager may get him set up in a place that isn't too bad for that year. They may be able to keep his points down because all he has is the violent crime.

Do you even know that the guy is guilty? Has he been trialed? Do you assume that every accusation of child molestation is true? So if there had been a kid on the truck that Cain opened fire to and the kid got shot and died what then?

He was facing a premeditated murder charge. Because his actions were premeditated. They didn't fight for premeditated at sentencing because they already dropped it as part of his plea deal

They didn’t fight for it because premeditation is a flexible legal concept, courts also look at context, emotional state, and surrounding behavior to determine whether an intent was truly deliberate or if it was impulsive.
Cain was in enough of a gray area where they were able to get it dropped in the plea deal.

The DA wouldn’t have dropped it if they had it locked down, they wanted to give him a lot of time.
