What do you mean "may" he's pled already. We are beyond the point of charges sticking. He has formally entered a plea of no contest to the charges brought by the people.

Now he will appear for sentencing.

Yeah. Pleading no contest isn't the same as pleading guilty. Sentencing is up in the air. Still possible he receives time served, or foo foo sentence.

lol - It's a minimum of 3 years for shooting from one vehicle and into another if you shot at another person much less hit them.

I'm in the minority on this but I do think he deserves to go to jail for how recklessly he acted. I'm sympathetic to his motivation but that's not anywhere near enough to exonerate him here. Even if the accused child molester was in fact guilty that doesn't justify a high speed shoot out which could get so many others in danger and indeed he ended up injuring someone other than the accused.

That said I hope he doesn't get a long sentence and is out relatively early.

Sure, the crime is there. But when you judge someone, you take into account many things. His story, his record, the global damages done and what leaded to all of this. At the end of the day, Cain is a first time offender, unanimously loved in his community, nobody died and he was ticked off for the reasons you have talked about. He already did time and putting him in jail again wont help anyone (the victim of the shooting will be compensated, its the civil aspect of that case and it has nothing to do with the criminal aspect of it). There are enough bad people in jail in the US and enough bad people who are not in jail to not go crazy on him, it wont do any good imo.

I am taking into account many things, specifically that he recklessly discharged a firearm and engaged in a high speed chase. Who is to say he won't try again? There is a hard lesson that has to be learned by Cain here. Under other circumstances I would say there's an argument for 15-20 years but I don't want to see that for Cain. I do think he deserves more than a year's worth of prison time.

However, anyone with young children can understand how an otherwise stable and rational man could lose his fucking mind when the awaiting trial for sucking your preschool little boy’s dick gets let out of jail with no bond.

He was in a frantic state and can’t be held accountable for his actions; this can and has been used as a defense.
Agreed Strange times when you can have a violent episode with a firearm involved and not be incarcerated awaiting trial.

Cain's attorneys should be delaying the court date to find the truth about Goularte. But it feels like they expect no additional information to be found.
