Media Buvaisar Saitiev the wrestling GOAT (3 times OL gold medalist and 6 times world champion has died today) Chimaev´s wrestling coach in his last camp

what are some must-see matches of his?

also rip
There are an endless supply of them.

I always liked this one. He’s only 18, looks scrawny as hell, but his technique is already incredible. Effortless:

This is 3 years later at 96 Olympics, when he won gold. Kenny Monday was a beast who won gold and silver in the last 2 Olympics before this.

Some people see all the badass videos and pictures of Karelin, and yes his resume is incredible, so was his abilitys. He was built to lift, and throw. That is how he won his matches. But when you wrestle in the highest weightclass, the competition is no where as hard as in the lower weight classes, Karelin alot of times wrestled just a big 120-130 mid-guy that a country sent because they had like 3-4 guys at that weight.

Saitievs resume is more impressive when you look at the people he wrestled, I don't think people understand.. Those weightclasses he was in have hundreds of killers competing for a spot in the national team, and they send just the most amazing wrestlers to the world championships, and the olympics.

Im more of a greco guy myself, I know how brutally hard the sport is but watching people like Saitiev, Dave Schultz, it's art.. RIP.
Karelin ain’t even the greatest Greco HW anymore. Mijain Lopez of Cuba has 5 Olympic golds now. Only reason he ever lost in like last 20 years is because he almost definitely threw the matches.
