Name another time it happened. I legit can’t think of one. I remember Herb Dean warned Big Nog not to hit Mir in the back of the head during their rematch, but he didn’t stop the fight or take a point.

Brock was doing Hulk smash. He hit him repeatedly. I can't think of another time it lead to a point or even stand up. But refs have stopped to give a warning.

I can think of many times when a ref did nothing and Sherdog was complaining about a ref allowing hits to the back of the head.

It was not the first or only time a ref stopped a fight for shots in the back of the head. Taking a point had no effect on the outcome.

The point in the end didn't matter, but stopping it and standing them up certainly did.

Rewatching it, it was probably one of the worse calls, he did land one, perhaps two to the back of the head, but while Mir was moving and Brock readjusted his punches right away, it was all within like 4 seconds,a nd in no way deserved as harsh a punishment considering what people have gotten away with a hundred times. Def uncalled for IMHO

Oh yeah. Herb Dean came in clutch for Mir. I think it's hilarious that he was on his way to getting pounded out just like he got in the 2nd Brock fight and the Carwin fight.

As far as I can remember it’s the only time I’ve seen a ref stop a fight and take a point for back of the head strikes. I know Sakara ktfo Patrick Cote with an onslaught of them and got dq’d but I can’t remember a ref ever stopping a fight and taking a point for them other than Mir/Lesnar.

Wasn’t Steve mezzagoti or whatever his fucking name is the ref ….makes senses now

I know most of the people in here disliked Brocks run in the UFC but i quite enjoyed it. It was fun while it lasted.

Yep, I enjoy all the big "hype" fighters' runs while they last - Brock, Conor, Ronda, etc - it makes the sport more interesting while they are fighting and on top. I know it annoys the hardcore fanbase that the big talkers get so much attention and so many rabid fans, but I think it's all good fun.
