Brock if he had trained MMA in Russia after college and stayed healthy, GOAT?

corticosteroids are linked, not anabolic steroids.

Corticosteroids are a potential risk factor for mortality in patients with perforated diverticular disease, due to blinding of disease severity, hampered wound healing or adrenal insufficiency.
I'm not gonna pretend I'm a doctor and give out pubmed articles here discussing the intricacies of physical degradation & steroid abuse. I'm just going to add that long-term steroid abuse is known to have severe effects on gut health. Him abusing steroids from a young age long into adulthood most likely contributed to this, whether there is direct scientific data linking it or not.

Brock is the perfect example of why not every top athlete can make it in fighting. Lots of things are different about MMA, like you get punched in the face. Not everyone can handle that.
That's not what the criticism is.

Being able to mentally handle taking damage and still continuing on fighting like nothing bothers you is what the problem with Lesnar was.

And how does that apply to this imaginary discussion of what Brock could've been if he'd started training striking earlier in life like more traditional fighter career paths?
What if Brock went to Yale and never pursued athletics?

brock stood toe to toe with carwin, he wasn't afraid and could take the power. with cain, the skill was too high and he knew he couldn't do anything.

And that is because he couldn't handle getting hit. It's not rocket science.

Brock coming out of college and training with any real camp would have been an ATG.

It was his reaction to getting hit, not his chin, that was his weakness. That he came in already rich and famous with the ability to build a yes man team around him was the reason it never got fixed. Had he come in young and hungry under a real team he would have done more striking training and gotten past it.

This isn't true though. His chin was monsterous he ate every punch Carwin threw, his only problem was inexpereince and shelling up when his opponent started to hit him.

If he had trained longer he would have have overcome this phobia, that's rookie stuff.
I never said he didn't have a bad chin. He couldn't take a punch, react well when hit. We're agreeing lol.

As much as I disliked Brock in UFC I have to say there is a difference in not liking being hit and not being able to take a punch.
Yeah he could take a punch, he survived Carwins onslaught. That said, he hated getting hit and couldn't fake it

I think he just started out very late and had a lot of mileage from pro wrestling. He was also too big of a name to start from scratch and train with normies first to develop his game. He had a camp of HWs but nobody knew how to strike outside of Pat. Brock didn't have many different looks when it came to striking.

Brock refused to let anyone hit him in the face while training. No amount of experience in the gym will help if you refuse to let anyone hit you.

Who cares about Brock doing steroids?? Jon tested positive 3 times and none seems to care

I guess TJ dillashaw is very hated for testes positive for EPO tho
But some people get away with it

Yeah
..that carwin fight he was taking tons of damage...he was just kind of like Rousey...very limited but strong as hell in their departments.

Brock was on his deathbed and ref bailed him big time

It's a possibility, will never know.

What if Mike Tyson had a few months of take down defence training?

As soon as Carwin landed well on him he panicked.

I think actually his best mental performance was vs Reem were at least he took the knees to the gut without panicking and likely went down to a liver kick.
