BREAKING Next Gen Games To Be 70 Bucks

I feel I’m a pretty good judge of what I’ll enjoy so I make a lot of day one purchases. Some better than others. I won’t be surprised about a hike to $70 but I’d only be ok with that if DLC/Microtransactions are lessened.

If you’re trying to recoup development costs and essentially ensuring that most people who purchase your game are giving you an additional $10 then there really isn’t any excuse.

Don’t see that happening though. They’ve become too pervasive in gaming and the allure of those extra profits, because let’s be real, people buy them, is too much to pass up.

Im ok with it, if they stop releasing half baked games with $30 DLC that contains content that should have been in the base game (Square Enix)

Games already cost $79.99 in Canada and I very rarely buy games day 1 cause of that. They are smoking some good shit if they expect me to pay more then $80 for a new game. Especially seeing as those are vanilla titles and not special editions or collector titles.

Games of yore cost more cause they were on expensive cartridges, packaging, chip shortages and duties and shipping.

New games today are mostly digital which don't cost much to manufacture or market and even still discs are still more inexpensive.

Games may be more to make but they subsidize with microtransactions today.

It is just greed. Bobby Kotick style.

Games should be more imo poor people need to use their time more wisely and they stink up online gameplay.

Why are games one of the only products that have a universal price across the board? They should be able to charge whatever they believe a fair price is to cover production/packaging cases/extras.

Remasters of previous gen games should never be more than half the cost IMO.

Been a while since I've seen "BREAKING" in a thread title. Still makes me cringe. This one is particularly dumb.

Movies cost a lot to produce too but they're $20-30, although it's only 2 hours of entertainment versus potentially hundreds for some games.
