Brazil crowds are the best...

Brazil is certainly a great market but it seems like the crowds are the most unsportsmanlike of anywhere. Some the shit they chant is pretty lame and rude, yet whenever a USA chant goes down in America people lose their shit. Im not a huge fan of USA chants but they dont bother me the way some of the Brazilian chants do.

My takeaway, great market, rude fans.

unfortunately for your theory, they all started watching the UFC events that were mostly held in american arenas. thus they all grew up watching the american fans chanting USA and are following suit, but in their own way.

So is KFC, do I have to sing the star-spangled banner each time I tuck into a 3-piece?

Pipe down red coat. If we wanted to hear your opinion we wouldn't have booted your kind out of North America.

Brits are pissed off they lost. We became the most powerful/influential nation on the face of the planet..... and then there's the UK.

Americans are the worse crowd, that's for sure. Specially the drunk Las Vegas "fans".

"USA! USA! USA !" Seriously...

Then you watch NBA and all you can hear from the crowd is "Defense ! Defense! Defense! Go heat! Go heat!" or something like that..

American fans care more about their hot-dog and beer! Their chants are the worse all around, not only in mma.

Busted, though it says "I no tell" on your location, we now know you are from the states.

less brazilian events more american events please

Yeah maybe its cultural. I am indifferent to USA chants, but can see how they would bug people in other countries. I think "you will die" is just trashy and rude. I like Brazil as a nation, but that is bullshit to me. I think "you will die" is a little more offensive than "USA", but again it might be a culture gap.

Also i dont know how brazil's chants are unfortunate for my theory. My theory is that the crowds are rude in Brazil, i never said that they aren't rude in the US.

well uh... i have a perfectly logical explanation for all of this. You see the thing is...

Didn't the Brits own you in 1812? But American's try to write it off as a tie, just like some American's claim to have won the Vietnam war?

It's funny that there's this thread saying that Brazilian fans are the best, then half way down the forum there's a thread saying the fans are garbage..

i think the fans in montreal are an awesome time.

never been to a fight in brazil though.

I have literally never met anyone who thinks we won in Vietnam. There's a collective facepalm here over that debacle.

People just like to hate on the USA.

When the American crowd is dull and quite they are bashed. Yet the dull and quite Japanese crowd is praised.

When Americans chant 'USA USA' they are bashed and called drunk rednecks. When Brazilians, Australians, Canadians, Mexicans, etc chant their nationalistic slogans they are praised for being enthusiastic about the fight.

You can't win with these bigots.

America is the top dog and people always hate the top dog. The Persians, Greeks, Romans, Mongolians, British, and every other hegemonic power were hated during their time. It's natural. The reason is because the hegemonic power provokes inferiority in all the second-rate states. Everyone likes to believe their own culture or country is in some way special or superior, and when someone else is doing better it stings the self-image. The feeling of inferiority leads to insecurity, insecurity leads to bitterness, and bitterness leads to irrational hate.

For the last 70 years America has been the global hegemon that has disproportionately dominated every aspect and industry in the world. Everyone revolves their life around American creations. Look at yourselves right now -- you're probably on an American computer, run by an American operating system, on an American website, discussing an American MMA organization.

America is in the spotlight more than other nations and thus gets more hate. Nobody puts energy into hating second-rate countries because no one cares about second-rate countries. No one pays much attention to what they do. Their 'flaws' are not put under a microscope like America's 'flaws.'

I agree I love it. As long as it's loud. They don't boo the action. I don't give a shit if they boo or not during intros. It's just for their guys. They aren't booing the action.

they booed Lentz for 15 minutes straight, and loved Markes, great crowd

Blunt but pretty much right. Of course, our government's foreign policy the past few decades certainly doesn't help defuse the hatred.

BTW, I'm on an operating system designed by a guy form Finland. But I get your point.
