The UFC doing this to give Kape the next title shot if he wins.
Kape will beat Royal and Kape-Pantoja over 5 rounds will be a banger title fight.

Lightning fast, with power, and technique; Kape is the best striker in 125 and he's really hard to take down. He is a massive problem for everyone in the division.
Unless he doesn't do anything like 1 whole fight ago. Kape has never beat anyone in hte top 10 ever. He should have been cut along with Mokaev. All his "Gay Prison" talk is so cringe.

So my Jimmies are rustled and yet you have to resort to "That Doesn't Count"?
<YeahOKJen>

Kape and Royval have the same amount of losses, but Kape has more wins on his record, and most of his losses were decision robberies.

Brandon Royval is 5'9" and fighting in the midget division, that's the only reason for his success. If he fought guys his own size, at BW/FW, he wouldn't even be ranked.

I get it, you don't like Kape, but Royval already fought for the title against Pantoja and lost. If anything he should fight a trilogy with Moreno who he's 1-1 with.

KKF is a can who's only getting a title fight because there's no else left in the top 5, and for that win over Eggman who shouldn't have been fighting for the title to begin with. They give Egg a title fight after beating #15 Matt Schnell and a couple of nobodies, but Kape has to jump through hoops and fight more gatekeepers.

Kape has 3 more wins then Royval but he has 3 more fights. Without doing a full dive into their competition Kape has fought more "Cans". I am defining "Cans" as guys without a wiki page for simplicity as again I am not doing a deep dive on their opponents. Kape fought 13 guys with no wiki while Royval fought 10.

Notice how the difference is 3 same as the number of wins for Kape?

Kape hasn't jumped through any hoops at all. Not sure why you say that. Who are these "Gate Keepers" he has fought in the UFC? He hasn't beat anyone ranked. He fought 3 ranked guys if you count Nicolau along with Mokaev and Pantoja and lost all 3.

I know you said the last 2 title challengers didn't beat a top 10 guy either. Not sure if that is a valid reason to whine about Kape having to fight Royval and not getting a title shot. Should we just give Pantoja a line up of cans to try and get him to break DJ's records?

If you are a fan of Kape then be happy he gets another chance to beat a ranked guy and get a title shot. Seems like you are afraid he will FAIL again. He probably will to be honest. Kape is a mini-me version of Hector Lombard. Looks and acts like a killer against weak competition but wilts against anyone legit.

Royval is pretty tall for the division and throws a ton. His weakness is defense, accuracy, tdd and grappling, but this probably won't be a factor in this game.
He threw 510 vs 219 strikes vs Moreno for example, landed just a little more.

Kape likes to counter, so this could be fun. He doesn't want the fight on the ground either, unless he sees a path to victory here.
Going with Kape by Ko. Royval's path to victory is output and cardio.
