Boxing Discussion VI

Gallimore looked great with deceptive power. Good shout there. Wish I went bigger at +360. Have to keep an eye on him.

Eaaasy cash on Gallimore. Corral is just a fucking bum tho, will still look to fade Ortiz in the future

i think mike perez +390 could be a bad line in the eight man tournament. the fight is in breidis hometown of riva, latvia, but if you look at showtimes 168 super six there were nuetral judges in the tournament and im assuming that will be the case in latvia. perez has a stellar lhw amatuer background and also a win over luis ortiz at hw. his career was derailed after he permanently ruined magomed and there are other boxers such as mancini, ruelas and eubank who claimed they were never the same after they killed or crippled an opponent.

here is mike perezs two year transformation and it appears that he has moved on with his life if the abduslamov fight had a negative effect on his boxing career

if the cut to 200 has not adversly affected mikes output and punch resistance and there is nuetral judging he could be a very live dog here

Almost forgot Lomachenko is this weekend free on ESPN. I haven't seen one ad since it was announced during the PAC fight.

I watched the Biscak fight live (his last fight), really wish we got to see more of him there or at least another outing before this fight. I like Perez but I don't think I can put money on him without seeing much of him over the past 2 years. Hearn talked about getting him another fight ASAP after the Biscak fight ended so early but I guess they couldn't find anyone who wanted the fight.

Will see what training videos I can find on Perez from recently. When I done a breakdown of the Huck vs Briedis fight I watched all of Briedis past fights and very much underrated him, I was thoroughly surprised by his ability to box as well as brawl, he shut out Huck in basically every round albeit Huck is a rough, tough brawler type and not a superbly technical boxer. If we had just seen a few more rounds in that Biscak fight or one more fight there would be a lot of questions answered.

you can make a case that marco is shopworn as hes had a lot of wars.

regardless, +390 i cant pass that up especially with nuetral judging. as a heavweight perez had skills, power and punch resitance, you can see that. if he can bring it down to cruiser where he fought in the amatuers hes going to be a problem for any 200 pounder.

Yeah, I mentioned that in my breakdown for the Briedis vs Huck fight that Huck has endured many wars.

Currently I think I'll be going for Briedis mid-late stoppage here, not enough questions answered about Perez here for me and half a round at Cruiserweight is not enough for me to see how he will fair at CW. He could end up looking really good but I prefer Briedis TKO (if it's priced well) possibly 7-9 or 7-12 depending on prices.

Both Perez and Huck are tempting dogs b/c of their talent, Huck was a great cruiser in his prime, Perez very skilled fighter as well. I don't favor either of them, but I have to admit the odds on both guys are pretty tempting.

I'm perplexed by that Perez line. The guy is damn good. Easy bet IMO

Huck is going to get absolutely school.

Usyk probably gonna piece him up, but 11-1 on him looks like it might be worth throwing away a few bucks Huck, imo. Will wait for props though, maybe there's something better to play, passing for now. Fight is still awhile away, maybe Huck jumps even more.

Polish guy, whose name I can't spell for the life of me, against Gassiev might be worth a look. Polish dude pretty old/washed now though. Hard for me to play these juiced up favorites w/o having props as an alternative yet.

hwo has the +390 line? highest i can see on +350

Huck isn't beating Usyk, not this version of Huck anyway, maybe the Huck of a few years ago would have had a good chance. This will very likely be a wide UD, 118-110 or 117-111 or 118-110.

Wouldnt bet him at 20-1 tbh, Huck is done. Doesn't have the footspeed anymore.. Generally looked awful against Breidis

Yeah you guys are probably right. Huck is pretty washed at this point. Ain't the same dude that gave Povetkin fits, arguably beat him, iirc. That was five years ago, though, shit time goes by fast. Usyk prime and very good boxer for his size. I still might waste a few bucks on Huck if he happens to reach 15-1 or something b/c I hate money.

Huck is good if he's against other hookers i mean.. he's still tough. But against boxers with footwork i don't think he has any chance anymore.

Yeah he isn't the same guy anymore. Tournament aside, one fight I would like to see is Huck vs Kudryashov, a winnable fight for him style wise and could be very entertaining.

Yeah see that's a winnable fight.. Immobile fighter who throws heavy hooks and like the pocket. Would be a banger. Still think Kud probably would put him out down the stretch.

Is the tournament lose one and youre out?

Yes, it's an elimination tournament.
