Body slam is never used in UFC

I believe you are correct. As the sport got homogenized, awesome but inefficient moves went more and more by the wayside.

The cost of professionalizing the sport.

Much earlier, many other moves got evolved out of MMA. Things that TMAs thought would work in a fight, but actually didn’t.
Slams definitely work in a fight. They're more devastating than any other technique. It's just the rules (no head spiking, padded floors) that make them pointless in MMA -- which is not real fighting.

well they changed the matt so you might not see damage like Tito did to Evan...... Even in the new age Gerald Harris has like 4 slam Ko's

I m not gonna lie, I often wonder why MMA fighters don't get injured more often falling the way they fall.
They must be in pretty crazy shape afterall because I am a judoka and some of this shit would wreck me.

with todays takedown defense,

the peoples elbow is more effective

Not only that but people have gotten better at defending against wrestlers overall making executing a slam probably just cost too much energy for what it's worth in MMA.

Last point, didnt Hughes “slam” (or really just kinda fall over and luckily and accidentally land on) Newton?
Hughes passed out from the choke for sure, he had the sense to prop him up on the cage though which meant the drop was a lot more vertical and led to the knock out. Had Matt stood in the middle of the octagon he would have lost. I'm a huge Newton fan so I've hated that finish for years but it was a crafty win for Hughes and I have to give him credit for it. Brings to mind the saying of "Luck is a mixture of preparation and opportunity".

leg drop is much more effective. why come we not see those anymore in MMA?
They say Duane had to hold back when he did the Rock bottom, because at 100%, it would cause instant death.

Cause this shit got watered down with all of these fancy TV deals, and they don't wanna lose their Reebok check for bringing Hogan level violence to an opponent (minus the slurs)
Lil bitches.

Igor Zinoviev and it essentially ended his career as he never fought again after that fight.

I’ve never seen a spike executed so well in the MMA arena. Spiking is too dangerous. It’s gotta be a flat or upper 1/3 slam for safety. The neck is too vulnerable but how do you enforce it?

This isn't the WWE. Some of you haven't got over that.

It confuses you. Besides, mos of the time, they're easy to defend. Also, there's a difference between a slam, and a throw.

Jesus Christ, this place is insufferable.

I hope the door doesn't hit your ass on the way out, then.

He was referring to ghey WWE shit, ya fucking goofs, not fucking judo/wrestling/BJJ throws.

Has anybody posted Belcher’s pancake piledriver on Cote?

happy Thanksgiving boys

Came here to mention Tito vs Tanner, seems like someone got it.

The canvas isn't that soft, you can easily break someone's ribs with a slam.
