Blaydes on whether he wants to face Jon Jones: " I'm not going to fight Jon Jones for 200k

Even then, even exciting fighters can hold up a fight they want to see. Everyone knows UFC was trying to put the screws into Porier, and they knew its unfair. They dont give a shit. They are like "take it you fucker! pls let them rob you,i want to see fight"
Yeah they WERE quick to shit on him for wanting more money, weren't they? FFS why would they think AFTER you fight one of the top draws in the sport, is when you should try to get paid.

Every single person thought cowboy was a sap for layin down to conor for base pay. Red panty nights aint what it used to mean.

He was a sap. Ppv points are out of the question unless you hold a belt usually (BMF type of fight would be an exception. Or possibly last minute replacement as the ME on a ppv). But, you should at least get a decent bump in pay for that kind of fight.

If my base was $200K, I'd expect more for Jones, and especially Conor though.

People were talking GUARANTEED money after the oppurtunity. Well he fought Khabib, wheres the money for the Conor fight???

As any normal sane person would.

At some point fighting Mcgregor doesnt mean dick other than exposure.
Beating a famous fighter= higher stock value!

You beat the man and you become the man and that leads to opportunity. Fight promoters are not fucking idiots and know that and will take advantage of that. Now is the time to get leverage and if victorious you hold the UFC hostage for more cash money.
What if you dont beat the man?
What if you lose, and get injured.
Then you got the 20 k to wipe your ass with, while you sit on the sidelines, with NO guarantees whatsoever when you get back.

Well be a more entertaining fighter and win. Or don’t. And then wonder why you don’t make more.

200k for Blaydes? That is beyond fair. For a guy like him. B

Tony Ferguson is a great example. They pulled the "just one more fight bro PROMISE" shit with him until he ended up out of his prime. Nothing to show for one of the greatest win streaks in ufc history. And look how many people were just waiting to shit on him when he finally did lose.

Idiotic time to throw a complaint about pay out there.

Now Dana is not going to want to even bother negotiating the fight with him, and will not want to give him any big fights.

he could have made 200k and potentially been the man to dethrone JJ, which would allow him to ask for significantly more money after.

Maybe double that salary as an offer and he'll probably bite or something because most of us know very well that fighters in the ufc are pretty much underpaid even if he/she's one of the elite ranked fighters for a weight class.

He should get paid as much as JDS at least.

But this is wee bit risky fight for Blaydes since the chances aren't super high that he could win and his stock crashes and burns if he loses to a LHW

Yep
The party line is now "well, the khabib fight isnt as cool anymore, hes damaged goods"
Thats what taking that fight got him.

He doesnt want 200K. SO he doesnt care if Dana will offer that.

He should really listen to the fans that what he should do. According to them he isnt even worth 200k!

He isn't worth $200k if he wants to fight bums instead of the best fighter in the world. Especially considering he has zero following and name value at this point in his career.

How dare Curtis think he is worth more than 200k for one of the biggest fights of his career!!!!
What a clown!

So he is value worth off what he has done. And what had contractually obligated himself too. Or his his vale worth more as he’s fought a guy who’s been dominant for well over a decade.

this isn’t boxing. The deals are what they make them. 200 k. For a Blaydes fight should be greatly appreciated for him. And he should take that fight and win and improve his worth.

in reality why the hell woulr bones fight s Curtis Blaydes? Makes zero sense.

Dustin Porier is an entertaining fighter. How come he doesnt get more to fight Conor?

They seem to genuinely believe that if you want to make money in mma, well just be one of the 5 or 10 greatest fighters ever. What's the big deal? These same people better not ever wonder why more talented athletes don't want to get into mma lmao

Stop with this contractually obligated bullshit.

So many fighters have renegotiated their contracts for big fights. But Curtis Blaydes isnt allowed to do that?

Ask Covington and Usman how they got more money?

Just dont ever ever lose, win excitingly, and even if they still dont give you a title shot, you still have to maintain for however long it takes.

He isnt saying he wants to fight bums instead of fighting Jones. He is saying that if he fought a bum he would get the same pay as fighting Jones, and that is not fair. He is right.

It's weird man, a lot of us have been watching long enough to see an entire generation of fighters end up used up, brain damaged, and broke. Yet people still believe this Company Man bullshit.
