jared leto.. awful.. he seems like a giant douche / pretentious fuck who is too self absorbed

He got a lot of acclaim (including an Oscar) for his role as an HIV-positive transgender woman in Dallas Buyers Club. I think that's where a lot of the hype came from.

i think such hype existed well before dallas buyers club. . . he was one of those guys, like leo, who you know would be awarded an oscar eventually. also, he benefited from a weak S.A. group; i doubt he could have sniffed an oscar during the past 15 years or so (on wiki i had to go back to 1999 in order to find a class of similar ilk).

i think he will be fine though. denis knows how to work with actors, and leto can adapt.

I watched that movie. Leto pranced around wearing a dress for a few scenes. He only won an Oscar because Hollywood was pushing identity politics hard that year. 12 years a Slave (an absolutely terrible movie) won best Picture.

Are they going to show Leto all through the trailer and cut him out?

Is it just me or is Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep a much cooler title than Blade Runner?
It is but that side plot was left out of the film adaptation so it wouldn't really make sense as a title.

We Can Remember it for You Wholesale is also a cooler title than Total Recall

Construction Worker Killed on the Set of BLADE RUNNER Sequel

A Hungarian construction worker was killed while dismantling one of the sets for the untitled Blade Runner sequel at Budapest's Origo Studios on Thursday, Alcon Entertainment has confirmed to Mashable.

The victim, whose identity was not immediately revealed, was working beneath a platform on which the set was constructed when it suddenly collapsed. The cause of the accident remains undetermined, though an investigation is expected.

The Blade Runner sequel was not shooting at Origo at the time, having already wrapped there, which is why the sets were being dismantled.

Denis Villeneuve is directing the sci-fi movie, which stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Jared Leto, Mackenzie Davis, Ana de Armas and Robin Wright. Warner Bros. will release the Blade Runner sequel on Oct. 5, 2017.

Fuck me. They got the guns and the glass.

i can't help but feel this is 20 years to late.
The original kinda looks more futuristic than most 90s films tho. 90s tech had not advanced far enough in terms of CG and camerawork. Before digital cameras became the norm, I think a sequel would have looked like a poor homage.

shoukd have left the date out of it.
Does anybody think we'll have flying cars in 30? Let alone 10?

it will be just another movie for millennials

You are probably right. I am just hoping one of these days they will actually do a remake of a cool movie and capture the essence. The skill seems to be lost though.

Note: This will be merged with the official Blade Runner 2049 thread after a few days.

I like how it seems like they've attempted to keep the look of the film the same as the original, and not go overboard with fancy CGI laden set pieces.

I was going to say "do not want", but if it's by Denis Villeneuve I do want. Very much.
