This movie let me a feeling similar to Mad Max Fury Road, is great compared to the current movies, but feels like is missiing something compared to the originals.

Some quick toughts.

The visuals in GITS live action movie were hurt by the use of annoying holograms instead of billboards (maybe to not look like BR), and in BR 2049 we see holograms appear on the cIty, not as annoying as in GITS but I prefer billboards.

All the women on the film looked beutiful (ok not all, there was the one eyed one, but the rest mmm).

Gosling dating a IA was cute/sad, while its just sad for a human to fall in love with a IA (HER) , it probably makes perfect sense for a robot.

I do feel it was to long, my back started to hurt the last 40 minutes.

How do I know if a movie theater is Dolby Digital?

https://www.dolby.com/us/en/technologies/dolby-digital-cinema.html

Imax also has 3d / 2d / 70 mm and big movies like this one don't disappear just after one week from Imax screens they stay at least a month they just didn't update their listings / options.

You are overthinking things find the biggest screen you can and go watch it in a preferred seating location.. if you like 3D find a version like that if you don't then go for the good all trusty non darker 2D standard version.

Most visually stunning film of all-time (IMO).

So deeply entrenched in Film Noir. Some screenshots I took:

Looks amazing.

Good film, I enjoyed the slow pacing. Definitely could have cut some scenes/parts to save money and runtime though.

7.5/10

It was good. Leto's character was a waste. He wasn't great in the roll, and the roll wasn't fleshed out. For the length of the movie, much of the things that could have been fleshed out were not.

Some of the depth of things that weren't that important was interesting. Nice looking film. Well acted overall, especially by modern standards, but Leto was a bit of a let down to me. Some of the usual "why didn't they finish this one when they had the chance," you see a lot now in movies. They should have got much deeper into the relationships between humans and replicants.

Looked good, sounded good, had interesting tech, had some nice turns, could have been a 9.5, but wasn't.

I enjoyed watching it. However the twist and ending was rushed and felt meh.

They acting was great the cinematography was on point and stylish.

Outside of 3 characters the rest feel shallow and bland, which lead to the meh twist and ending.

Also I felt when in the bladrunner when offworld is often described it left me thinking of an epic sci-fi world. Offworld in 2049 is described feeling boring and more like elysium

Saw it last night (in imax 3d).

Backstory. I booked the tickets a few days earlier but yesterday afternoon I got a feeling I've been having on and off for a while, something that feels like a lightly scratched cornea.
I think it's been happening ever since my wife kicked me in the eye.
Anyway it was really uncomfortable and I was kinda dreading this 3h long movie.

I had to keep my left eye shut for the first 25 mins of the movie whilst thinking what a waste of money the 3d was.

But I still managed to realise what a beautiful piece of work this is, quite a masterpiece of cinematography. I was in awe for almost the whole film.
After 30 mins the pain in my eye was almost gone.

So basically this movie looks so good that watching it in 3d can cure a scratched cornea.

About the other aspects of the movie
overall I enjoyed it a lot, the slow pacing is fine when you know it's going to be a long movie...it's not as if nothing happens at all, so I'm fine with the movie taking it's sweet time to develop the story. I enjoy detective movies very much and that's exactly what this was.

The character of Joe has a great development, and this branch of the story has a great arc...from beginning where he kills Batista (and the line about being able to be a bladerunner because he's never seen a miracle) until the end where it seems like he hooks up with the rebel replicants, upon having seen the miracle with his own eyes and realising what he and the replicant really are.

Hands down the best scene was where he killed that bitch in the water.

It quite literally borrowed the finale scenes from my joint favourite movies of all time.
1)point break - where Utah and Bodhi fight in the water.
2) gattaca - the final swimming scene at night, it also uses the same overhead shot which was beautiful.

Only weak points were when he first met deckard..it took me out of the tone of the movie a bit. Especially the first fight between them.

Overall rating is 9.5/10

Maybe the best movie I've seen this year.

Question:

why does Jared let kill that naked chick in his first scene?

I know that this has been said a million times already, but I'm super disappointed that it's not living up to the box office hype. Just goes to show that there's two sides to Hollywood sucking these days: studios unwilling to take risks with daring scripts and pleb audiences that only want Fast 105 or capeshit reboot 4.

Check the website, it should be under dolby cinema

Best way to watch any movie.

Shit they don't have it...but its coming soon....I guess Imax @ 2d? or should I just go 3d? or just watch at some random crap movie theater?

I put most of the blame on the marketing. They banked on people knowing the brand which was also a dud at the box office.

Why would you be glad?

Fck the haters,

Movie was great. Great plot, twists, chemistry, dynamic.

I wasnt feeling the pace but the movie wasnt intended to be aggresive. I feel it was the way it was because of K and the whole self identity.

Question

Just to confirm, K went from accepting his role as a typical replicant then finding out that he's special (child of deckard) to only realize he isn't but instead was only used to keep her (Ana) memories, so that she is kept hidden? But unlike Ana, he has exprienced more human life such as falling in love, making decisions, having different emotions, feeling real snow, pain ect.

That is correct.

And glad you enjoyed the movie.

I really wanna watch it but that shit is way too long for me to sit in the theater for.
