We've all heard about the horrors of phone manufacturing in China.. can you imagine the crunch for game development?Forgot their was a thread for this. Posted the trailer in the PlayStation thread. Really looking forward to this. Hopefully the Chinese shut down the criticism that we can't trust what they make since they've only done mostly mobile stuff. Recently, South Korea has made Lies of P and Stellar Blade and both were great so I'm hoping this is China's turn.
game looks impressive
Sorry I missed your message from a while back. China is a weird place. Obviously the working conditions in those factories are atrocious but then you have your office jobs that are actually more reasonable than South Korea and Japan's work culture. Almost all jobs in China take a break for 2 to 3 hours in the middle of the day. The employees just sleep on the floor during that period. There's no pressure to go out and drink with your colleagues after work. In Japan, you really can't have much of a family life if you are an office worker. Every weekend you're pressured into going to bars and restaurants and if you don't you can forget about any type of promotion. We've all heard about the horrors of phone manufacturing in China.. can you imagine the crunch for game development?
Looks alright, but I worry that the Souls-like genre is getting a bit over-saturated and played out. Reminds me of the "open world sandbox" craze, when every studio was trying to make the next GTA.
With so many unprovens for this project from individual developers up, this is a 100% do not preorder game. Real talk. This was in the vaporware pile up until recently, even. Fence-sit the launch and then decide. My opinion. I think as gamers, we're an enthusiastic bunch; we need curb that enthusiasm sometimes more than others. Is there any PS5 footage out there yet? I'll be honest, I'm nervous. I hope we don't have a Cyberpunk 2077 situation here. What I mean by that is they showed zero console footage up until the day of release. To nobody's surprise it ran like absolute shit on consoles. I really hope that's not the case here because I'm super excited for this game. I'll be waiting on my preorder until we get some sort of confirmation on resolution and performance modes.

That's a viable take, by all means. Just don't preorder. I can count the number of developer houses who've earned the faith of a preorder on one bloodied hand. The good thing is the previews were pretty positive. So if anything we just have to wait a bit to let them iron out some bugs.
