185 this would be an interesting fight. No doubt that Khamzat and the wrestling would pose problems here. But with Alex, all he needs is a small window and it's over. Tough fight to call cause it's so unpredictable. It could be a 1st round finish by Khamzat by TKO or Sub, he could drag it on into later rounds and finish if Alex can defend well early. Or Alex can just KO him at any point.

205 is gonna be different. Alex will be bigger and stronger. He's gonna come in at 230 lbs while Khamzat will be 200, that's a big advantage or size and power.

Khamzat has become the most overrated fighter since Conor, it's comical.
While this is true, styles make fights. Pereira seems to have pretty poor grappling. Khamzat has some of the best grappling.

hate to be the bearer of bad news but i think the biggest reason Pereira wants to fight Khamzat at 205 is so he doesn't lose his belt

No. Alex is just too big for him. Alex would be fighting as a small heavyweight at LHW and Chimaev might barely make LHW without cutting any weight.
Too big of a difference in wrestling, Perreira is gettinf taken down. Skill discrepancy in grappling is downright insane.

Khamzat would give Pereira the Kevin Holland treatment. Poatan fans want to believe that their boy is something he's not but he got exposed BAAAD by Izzy.

It would be a 1-sided domination if Khamzat fought Pereira. UFC aren't ready to watch the flame burn out on their new champ so soon so there's no chance they're making this fight.
Yeah you don’t believe that. You was the one that bitched about Poatan being down to fight Khamzat at 205. Khamzat also don't believe that because he turned it down lmao. He actually turned it down.

Good call imo. Pereira eats him up and we all know it. Let's move on from the Khamzat smash gimmick. Khamzat moved on so why shouldn't his fans?

lol... he's praying that Khamzat gets him so that Pereira doesn't KHTFO.... lol

another dumb mf who thinks Izzy scored a takedown over Alex.

At LHW, Alex is probably gonna have 15-20 lbs on Khamzat, which should help with defending TDs. At MW, it's a bad matchup for Alex. In the Izzy fight, Alex's TDD looked good, but once it hit the ground he didn't look good. The Izzy TD was partly result of Alex messing up, though I admit once it was on the ground, Alex did not look good at all & will need to work on that

chimaev during one of his last interviews said that right now he weights 205 on the dot. So he definitely won't be cutting any weight at LHW. If I remember correctly, he said that in camp he is at 195.

Total wolf tickets here, but a part of me really want to see this fight. A shame Khamzat turned it down

Poatan ducked 185 against Khamzat because he doesn't wanna lose the belt. Obvious. Why are supposed to move on when the thread is literally that topic?

Try to keep up, sir

A guy with the realistic possibility to beat both the current WW and MW champs right now is 'overrated'?

It's kind of sad that you don't recognize the talent available to you at this point in time in the sport

There's no question about taking Pereira down, Michailidis did it just last year, outgrappled him and took the round. The guy is not UFC material and he had his way with Alex as long as he grappled.

But he thought he was a kickboxer for a moment at the start of the second round and that was enough to go to sleep.

So the question IMO is if Chimaev can end it once on the ground or follow a game plan with little room for error over multiple rounds( which I don't think he can unless his GnP is on point). Or if his chin is strong enough to take Pereiras punches like other guys did( Otoni, Bruno Silva) - I don't think it is.
