the color is amazing, so hard to do, that is why I only have black/grey

gonna find a reallyyyyy good artist before I do anytihng colour

Good choice, most people who has chinese/japanese signs probably has something from the local chinese restaurant

I am going to do the japanese sign for judo on my left pec

I've been thinking about getting it on the the inside of my forearm.

Wow... that is art if I ever saw it. Does he do them all in traditional style?

He specializes in traditional style, but he does some non-traditional ones, like this one -- which is a killer b/w tattoo:

But some of this traditional-style are pretty innovative too. Here's one in progress, being colored-in, which you can already tell is sick.

I was more asking if he uses a machine or does it all the old school way...

@ ShanghaiBJJ

I've been to that studio in Yokohama. I wanted to get a piece the old fashioned way, but this place is booked up like crazy. I didn't see anyone getting a piece, but they have a little tattoo "museum" on the second floor that has both machines and the old school sticks. I'm almost positive that they use both contemporary and traditional methods.

thats my theory on tats in general...i just feel as if when your 70, u probably arent still going to want barb wire on your bicep, u know

That's some generalization there buddy. Not everyone with a tattoo has a barb wire on their bicep.

I have a scroll with the kanji characters for love, family, strength, respect, health, & happiness in it. I put a lot of time into thinking about what I wanted. I researched the characters, and had them double checked by 2 people I know that can read kanji (the owner of a local asian restaurant I frequent and a japanese woman in my Shorin Ryu class). Next I picked an experienced and reputable shop & artist. The rips, tears, detail, and shading in the scroll are awesome. I don't care how old I get, that meaning behind my tattoo will never get old and when it doesn't look good anymore because my skin is wrinkly I'll be more worried about how my face looks than my arm.

Thanks man. Yeah I thought so, from the gallery they have done a CRAZY amount of work already. Doing all that by hand would take 25 years or something...
