Bigfoot. Is it possible they exist?

Terrible argument. Sorry D. They do and scavengers scatter remains. I've happened upon remains of large animals before and if these animals were out there. There would have been definitive proof and at some point a body would have showed up. Especially considering all the different habitats where they have been "observed"
People clearly mistake the identity of animals all the time...these animals likely only exist in one location in the world, not many if at all.

A part of the bigfoot phenomena is similar to people who see UFO's...it's a go to explanation for an unknown.

That said there a clearly swaths of land including but not limited to the forests of the Pacific northwest that could easily house large animals unknown to science. To say we'd already know or find remains is silly considering just how expansive certain uninhabited areas of our planet are.

i think I did make a bit of noise but not a whole lot, usually making noise like shouting "hey bear" is not to scare them off once they are interested in you, but to alert them early because they usually attack when they are surprised....like coming around a bend in a trail and ending up face to face with a bear with Cubs.

I remember trying very hard to maintain composure because I wasn't sure what was happening and there were very few options....really I could keep going on my way or shoot the gun, there wasn't anywhere else to go or anything else to do.

Again, in this area, black bears aren't generally aggressive, in areas where they are used to people like New Jersey where they come looking for food and are used to people or Yosemite where cars are just big food coolers to them they act more aggresive. In northern New Mexico, not so much...there's very few people in New Mexico as it is, factor in the sheer size of the state and you do t really get bears that are used to people.

I don't know, that was like 9 years ago almost but I didn't really think it was a bear, that's why the story has stuck with me.

Understood. The way you told that story was great. That was a pretty vivid description of the physical landscape. I'm glad you didn't get mauled by bigfoot or your ass probed by aliens.

What is the Sasquatch population size? Obviously they must reproduce without major genetic defects but the size mus t be sufficiently small so that no bodies are left for long after dying of disease, heart failure, murder, suicide, natural disasters, etc.

I thought bigfoot was a time traveler

For arguments sake they really only need to congregate in very remote areas for this to work. There are plenty of areas in plenty of areas around the world where no one ever goes.

He said it was mating season, sounds like he's lucky he didn't get his ass probed by bigfoot.

Absolutely they can. The problem with most of our perceptions of this world is that our reality is a lie, and our lies are the reality. As long as they can keep making us believe in the lies, those lies will be our reality. Just because we can't see it, touch it, or observe it doesn't mean it doesn't exist, it just makes it harder to believe in, thus making it highly unlikely to most of the population.

I guarantee traveling around the world, interacting with different cultures, and observing how other people live will definitely change how you view the world and what is considered real and not real.
The problem with most of our aphorisms is that what is bullshit sounds intelligent and what sounds like bullshit is actually intelligent.

Many things invisible to our basic senses, such as radiation, are real, but they are nonetheless measurable. A large ape-like being would be detectable by our basic senses if/when we came in contact w/ one, alive or dead.

I have travelled and interacted w/ people in difft. cultures, and while I recommend it, what I considered real didn't budge.

We will never conclusively disprove bigfoot's existence, or unicorns for that matter. But the fact that we've never found bones of one, or fatally hit one with a car makes it extremely unlikely that they exist.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Many stories that are told involve similar experiences of seemingly being stalked/watched and intimidated. I've read about people having rocks thrown at them from the woods as well as hearing strange and frightening calls.

The retired ranger who claims they exist, and are known about, said they're territorial creatures and will break off saplings at around 6/7 feet up to indicate their area. He also said their mating season is in the fall, and that there's increased activity during that time of year.

Here in Oregon me and my family were out in the woods hiking. We were quite deep, few miles at least. We get to an area where there is a ridge above us, maybe 20-25 feet high. Now, as we were getting to this point we were all just getting an eerie feeling, as if we were being watched. We stop to take a picture and have a drink of water. I'm standing there chilling, watching my daughters. I take a slight step to my left to adjust and as I'm doing this a 7-9 pound rock is thrown at me striking me on my right collarbone, if I wouldn't had made that slight adjustment it would have hit me square in the face. This rock was thrown with force, it broke upon impact and felt like somebody hit me with a bat. No trail leading up to the Rodge above us and nobody within 30-45 minutes of us so it wasn't a person. The rock didn't just roll off and fall from the ridge, I was 10-13 feet away from the ridge and as I said, it came with force ad intent. Scared the piss out of us. We left and never went back to the area. This was in the Silver Falls area

This image was taken in 1936 in Australia of a supposed Bigfoot, Though in Australia we call them Yowie's. Aboriginal tribes have stories of them going way back.

That's badass, I've never seen this photo until now, thanks!!!

I knew they were called yowies though.

This may or may not be relevant, but a guy named Rex Gilroy found this giant axe head in Bathurst NSW, Australia, many years ago.

There is tonnes of evidence of giant man like creatures that once existed (or still exist) in Australia.

Yeah man. Giants, that's a whole new can of worms, there was a thread here about it a few weeks back.

Years back here on Sherdog there was a bigfoot thread where a user described his experience. He insisted that he was camping in the PNW and was in his tent when several "bigfoot" approached his location. There was a hilarious passage where he described what he called a juvenile bigfoot knocking on his tent and saying in a weird high pitched voice "Glen.." The writer gave me a serious lol when he further wrote "the really weird thing was that my name is not even Glen"!

Strange. Thanks for sharing.

Did you check out those photos you took real closely? If there was something or someone out there you may have unknowingly caught a sign of it/them in one of your photos. Unlikely, of course, but you never know.

Whatever the case may be, it's a good thing to trust your intuition in such a situation. Having your daughters with you is no time to go ignoring eerie feelings, especially after they're seemingly confirmed by an aimed projectile. I'm pretty sure in one of the interviews with David Paulides (411 documentary) he suggests that should you experience such feelings while in these wilderness areas, to take them seriously and not just brush them off - first thing one should do is stop and check their surroundings.

I call bullshit, giants in australia should use giant boomerangs, not axes

Broscience is clear about that
