Beterbievs power is to ********** much for Canelo

It will happen in the summer if Canelo doesnt lose at CW
35 & 36-year-old Golovkin, 36-year-old Kovalev, 37-year-old Beterbiev, and hopefully 38-year-old Bivol in 2029. My man Canelo's taking on all the elite fighters in their PRIME!!!!!

Who do you want him to fight….?

Ideally, I would like him to rewind time but since it's impossible, it would be nice if he could fight Beterbiev right away instead of wasting our time with random dudes who have to google their own names to make sure they spell them right.

This does seem like a novelty fight but the guy just unified at 168. We have to at least give him a "gimme" fight and see what he does next.

Canelo vs. Beterbiev is actually something worth paying PPV money to see.

I didn't watch Canelo vs. Plant. What was the point?

Unification whatever that’s worth.

Has Canelo every mentioned Beterbiev? He's moving up to poach a title, not take on the elite of the division. Hopefully he returns to 168 for a Benavidez fight next.

Canelo right now ...

<{ByeHomer}>
Nah. I think Canelo can box him up. Its a tall task, but his counter punching timing and head movement can get it done.

Beterbiev is a former amateur heavyweight who once dropped Usyk with a body punch. He walks around 200 pounds and is as denseeee as osmium. Canelo and Bivol are not stupid and will avoid him for the next two years.

canelo fights beterbiev next year

I can guarantee you that

Canelo fights Beterbiev, imo wins then gets accused of ducking (insert boogeyman of the week).

Accused? Canelo could very well stay at 168 for the rest of his career and nobody will ever talk about him versus Artur. He has already achieved great enough things as a boxer he can retire as an atg tomorrow. However he has done three things to lure a potential clash with Beterbiev. He has once moved up to fight a lhw champ. Him and Reynoso have talked in numerous interviews about Beterbiev. And he has recently alluded about challenging a cruiserweight titleholder at 190 pounds. To the fans that is translated as sailing in the waters of the unified lineal champ at 175, because nobody expects Canelo to unify CW and most don't expect him to stay at 168 for long either. So it's a legitimate possible future match up to discuss. And nobody can be faulted for making Artur the favorite in that match up either, for very obvious reasons.

beterbiev walks right through canelo taking no damage. canelo can’t hurt beterbiev. he doesn’t have the skills, precision, or power of a uhhhhh…. *checks note* jeff page jr. or callum johnson

Beterbiev is going to pay dearly over and over for punching at all and be afraid to throw that power by round 2. He will be nicknamed Beterweather after the fight. You have to land on Canelo to hurt him. Beterbiev is going to no longer have the ability to just be that much harder of a man and walk through fire here, it's gonna be an accumulation that ruins him.

The flaw in your analysis is that Beterbiev doesn't have to land flush to wear on his opponents. Even hitting Canelo on the arms, around the guard, jabs, etc. will wear on him. Canelo's never fought anyone with anywhere close to that kind of grinding power (and don't say Kovalev or GGG please, they're not the same level). The only chance Canelo has is if he truly hurt Beterbiev with a counter punch early. Other than that it's a late fight stoppage for Beterbiev.

hilarious to assume canelo gets stopped by anyone at this point. guys been hurt for a few seconds once in his entire career and now he’s losing by (T)KO to a guy within his weight range? stop it.

also hilarious to add “canelo’s never fought anyone with big power, except for these two answers which I WILL NOT ACCEPT”

i agree that beterbiev hitting your shoulders, arms, hips, ribs, etc. wears on you all the same but canelo has shown absurd durability and fitness in his career. predicting a wide loss from the stylistic matchup & size difference is one thing but a stoppage feels disingenuous.

I'm not assuming anything, Canelo is one of the best counter punchers ever, he has a chance of hurting Beterbiev on a counter. But i lean towards a late stoppage by Beterbiev. Just because Canelo's never been stopped doesn't mean he will never be stopped.
