It's one thing when your opponent hits hard, but it's a different thing when your opponent is P4P one of the hardest hitters ever... Combine that fuck you power with decent boxing skills and the 20-25 lbs advantage.. Mother of god!

Canelo got big Mexican balls if he really wants to fight Beterbiev lol!!...

Canelo.. What are u doin
<2>

So far no one has come close to hurting Canelo. GGG was probably the biggest puncher he's faced and he just ate those shots. Beterbiev is a legit LHW monster. Kudos to Canelo if he takes that fight.

If canelo fights beterbiev i would have massive respect for him win or lose. Beterbiev is a very dangerous fight for canelo and its not like he is a massive draw.

Beterbiev is going to pay dearly over and over for punching at all and be afraid to throw that power by round 2. He will be nicknamed Beterweather after the fight. You have to land on Canelo to hurt him. Beterbiev is going to no longer have the ability to just be that much harder of a man and walk through fire here, it's gonna be an accumulation that ruins him.

canelo beats him, canelo beats everyone at 175

only Bivol might beat him because of his footwork

Bivol has a better chance to beat Canelo than 37 year old. Slow feet Beterbiev…. Plus you can make the argument that Benavidez and Charlo make a lot more sense economically speaking than the 2 euro guys

Canelo gets hurt. Punches hurt. Especially at the elite level. It's just the way it is. Plant had some good shots and they no doubt hurt, but they didn't phase Alvarez. Plant's not a big puncher but he usually catches guys because his speed means they don't see it. Canelo hides it well, and he doesn't really close his eyes so he usually sees what's coming, so the shock may not be there, even if the pain is. Beterbiev has the physicality to move Canelo and hit him anywhere and hurt him. Dense bones. Canelo, if you notice, doesn't get moved too much, but who are the physically strong guys that moved him? Actually Mayweather handled him in the clinch. Mayweather has more strength than he gets credit for. GGG was a big puncher, but not a physical guy who handles his opponent with his physicality. It's his power that does it. Beterbiev has that physicality.

It be a statement of all time greatness just to take such a fight. However, there are still at least 2-3 great fights around his weight that I rather see 1st. I think Jermall Charlo honestly deserves his crack at a huge name like Canelo. I also think Benavidez deserves it on talent & hype alone.

Rather see that than risk Canelo getting ruined by pulling a RJJ and just going up too far against somebody who could scramble his brain.

I think it looks a lot like GGG/Canelo 1 with Beterbiev backing Canelo up for most of the fight

It would be very impressive if Canelo beats Beterbiev.

bivol is high risk low reward, the other guys will trade with canelo and get countered, bivol could outbox canelo

This. Canelo doesn't owe that fight beeing the weightclass. But be amazed if he delivered

i've been saying this for a while, the time to fight beterbiev was when canelo KO'd kovalev.

it was literally two weeks after beterbiev dismantled gvozdyk and unifed his titles. canelo was the second title holder there. if he wanted to fight the monster, that was the time. artur was 34 at the time already. now, two years later, when he's pushing 37, they're finally talking about it. they did the same thing to golovkin. it's smart, but it irks me to no end.

had they fought in 2019, i'd have bet my left nut on beterbiev putting canelo into a fucking coma. but time waits for no man and by the time the ginger fights him, he will have declined enough to actually make this very interesting. it will probably be a better fight now, but should alvarez win, it certainly won't be as significant as it could've been.

I agree with you that look's like Canelo's managers are aiming this fight when biev will be close to his 40s.
But even if they fought when Biev was 34, Canelo would've bet him, the Russian is way too slow, and would get hit way more often than Kovalev did, a more technical fighter in my opinion.
Beterbiev wouldn't find Canelo's head, and it would be interesting to see how many body counterpunches he could take.

on the top of that Beterbiev's chin is doubtful:

at 0:30 of the video, a left hook knocks him down and he gets up wobbling,

and at 5:50 of that video

I think Canelo figures out how to break him down by round 5 and TKOs him by round 7
