best muay thai fighters in each division?

HW: Overeem
LHW: Diabate or Shogun
MW: Anderson
WW: either Alves or Daley
LW: Njokuani followed by Barboza
FW: Aldo by a seriously long shot
BW: Barao

Prime Shogun had great Muay Thai. Reem also has brutal Muay Thai. Anderson Silva's muay doesn't look as traditional as Reem or Shogun, or Wandy's

This thread is so full of fail. This post even more. Reem neither Shogun or Wand have traditional muay thai ( in MMA traditional muay thai can be seen mostly only in some asian promotions where thais crosstrain with mma ). Reems muay thai is vastly overrated. Reem is very unorthodox striker and his K1 succes doesnt make him great muay thai practicioner. His attacks are very different from how muay thai teaches them, he can use them effectively but he is far from traditional or even holland style muay thai.

Chute box muay thai was also different from traditional or holland school. They adapted different approach and changed a lot of things to suit for mma.

Diabate and Barboza are ppl who mainly represent muay thai in mma.

Ow and forgot about Nova Unao guys.

why is no one mentioning Shane del Rosario at heavyweight? also, isn't Overeem's style kickboxing, not MT?

Speaking of Muay Thai, here's a rarely seen Muay Thai match with Anderson Silva:

Enjoy.

uh, sure...

I definitely don't agree with Condit. But the rest seem legit.

Shogun was the epitome of mma muay thai for Rampage destruction and 25 minute kicking session versus Lyoto but he hasn't shown much kicks especially knees and clinchwork all but diminished. I would say Cyril Diabate has some nasty all-around muay thai technique for LHW. Vera knows his stuff but like Shogun, can't seem to showcase it consistently.

shogun does not kick much anymore cause his knees are destroyed. everyone knows that.

FLW: John Moraga
BW: Renan Barao
FW: Jose Aldo
LW: Donald Cerrone
WW: Thiago Alves
MW: Anderson Silva
LHW: Jon Jones
HW: Alistair Overeem

people need to stop saying Donald Saroni at lightweight it's making me cringe. Saroni has good striking but its nowhere near the best in the division.

No hate, no flaming, I just want opinions. Here I'll give you mine.

Fly weight=John Dodson
Bantam Weight=Renan Barao
Feather Weight=Jose Aldo (honorable mention to Korean Zombie)
Light Weight=Toss up (Edson Barbosa, Donald Cerrone, Anthony Pettis)
Welter Weight=Carlos Condit (honorable mention to Thiago Alvez)
Middle Weight=Anderson Silva
Light Weight=Shogun Rua
Heavy Weight=Alistair Overeem

WW - Thiago Alves
LHW - Bones
HW - Barry

I actually think Shogun has very good Muay Thai. The problem is he has very poor wrestling. That's why against strikers like Lyoto and Liddel, he looks incredibly crisp, but against guys like Hendo or Jones, he's throwing haymakers. He doesn't want to be taken down.
