Footwork and headmovement.... Cruz. But that will anger boxing guys.... cuz they're more pretentious than MMA fans when it comes to "there's a way things are done".
Guys like Roy Jones Jr. and Pernell Whitaker didn't abide by the "there's a way things are done" philosophy and they were damn near untouchable in their prime. That's not why a boxing guy like myself doesn't appreciate Cruz. I just think he's not athletic enough to make up for his mistakes.
His defense in the second GIF isn't too bad at all. He stays away from Bowles' big right hand and ducks his punches. That's good defense. The first GIF angers me a little bit because he walks right into Jorgensen face-first. Granted, he cut a beautiful angle but he was wide open for a huge punch if Scott hadn't frozen in confusion.
Faber took advantage of said openings a lot in their second fight and I sincerely hope Cruz never has to fight Barao because an offensive machine like that will certainly hurt him.
