Best back to back wins?

Lawler in his peak when he first avenged his loss to Hendricks (16 - 2), then finished MacDonald (18 - 2) in a brutal fight, and also was able to defend once more against Condit (30 - 8) who was the only other guy to have finished Rory, when he was young and new.

It was quite shocking as he never was the brightest shining star over at Strikeforce. But then Woodley, just able to scrape by Gastelum for a title shot, knocked him out lmao.

Or for the first time

Well, at least the rematch was convincing. Many educated observers thought the first was a robbery.
I had BJ winning rounds 1 and 2 convincingly and Frankie winning rounds 3,4 and 5 narrowly. It's certainly a tough job to keep you educated observers up on your education but damn it, I'll see it through.

I thought it was a fair decision, if shocking. Super close and competitive fight. I was a big fan of both guys back in the day.

Not sure on wins but Yuji Nagata lost to Mirko Cro Cop, Fedor then retired.

Topuria is on a great run. If Topuria cleans out some more FWs, and then moves up to LW and beats Makhachev and defends at LW for a few fights. That would put him in all-time great status.
...Then top it off by KOing McConor after all of that, if McConor ever gets back to competing.

There have been a bunch recently.
Cejudo beat TJ, Marlon and Cruz.
DDP beat Whittaker, Strickland and Adesanya.
Islam beat Charles, Volk, and Volk again.
Topuria beat Emmet, Volk and then knocked out Max fucking Holloway.
Which one do you think is the best? I love Shogun but recent UFC history plz.

I was a huge Penn fan.

Full disclosure, I was kinda rooting for Penn in GSP-Penn 1.
It was his fan base that were kind of like how Conor fans are that I hated. This is actually my 2nd account, PB banned me shortly after UFC 94, so I was definitely egging him on after UFC 112 and 118.

Griffin beat number 1 Shogun then number 1 Rampage. Had to mention it cause Griffin gets underrated at lot.
Fuckin right. Shogun was supposed to come over to the UFC and wreck shop. 26 years old just 2 years removed from his legendary 05 Grand Prix run. Just 2 losses, 1 at heavyweight via a freak accident and the other in just his 2nd year competing professionally. Forrest was a known guy because he had won TUF but wasn’t considered amongst the best in the division. He was basically just there to be someone whose name people would recognize when he got run over.

Curious but what's the lore behind Positive Balance?

He was like THE rabid BJ fan from 2006 to 2010. I don't know how he became a mod in the first place, but the guy always seemed to be an asshole and when any discussion involved Penn, he was handing out either infractions or yellows. I imagine his mod status was taken away because he was abusing his role, and he eventually rage quit after UFC 118. I was flicking shit at him as soon as I started this new account so he and I never got along during his tenure here. I think he was iNinja briefly and a few members, plus myself trolled him until he was banned once more and I haven't heard anything about him since but I'm sure he's either under a new account and is finally mellowed out or he just lurks. I figured you would've known but perhaps not.

Thanks for the lore. Wonder what he thought of Penn getting KOed by that fat dude in the parking lot.
I read the name a few times but never knew the backstory lmao. I was around for the dreadful Conor McGreGOAT era on Sherdog. Sad but funny times in hindsight.

Jon destroying shogun and being the youngest champ ever then him beating rampage and making him tap out
