Can't believe no one has mentioned the John Adams HBO miniseries yet. First episode is kinda slow, but the remaining episodes are the best television can be. Highly recommended.

If you've never seen The Barbarian Invasions, I recommend you watch it. Incredible, provocative, poignant, and deeply insightful film. At one point, the protagonist, Remy, who has been a radical socialist French-Canadian professor his entire life, says, "Philadelphia, USA,- Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Adams, Franklin, Jefferson, Washington, Hamilton, and Madison. No other country has been so blessed."
