Began watching Spartacus

If you ever do give it another chance, start with Gods Of The Arena. It's a prequel, and they made it after they figured out how to make the show good. Those first few episodes of the first season are fucking PAINFUL, and would understandably turn anyone off. They really did get their shit together about halfway through season 1, and never looked back.

It's a pretty tight series.
 
4 episodes into season 3. Im actually really enjoying this season as well. The new actor isnt bad.
 
Just finished episode 8 of the last season. Fuck this episode ended on such a sour note. Sad that its coming to an end. Only 2 episodes to go....

HBO. I don't think I can do it justice describing it. The setting is ancient Rome. It revolves around two soldiers. It is a must watch, imo.

Is the sex still rampant in the rest of the show or does it die down later on? I'm guessing not in season 2 because I saw the first episode and there were like 3-4 scenes, one of which was an orgy, lol.

I ask because my dad loves Roman/Greek movies and shows, Gladiator is legit his favorite movie. I'd like to recommend this to my dad and mom to watch, but I don't want them to question why I recommended such a filthy show, lol. Even though I'm sure they'd still enjoy it.

Someone's probably already told you this but you really shouldn't skip Gods of the Arena. It's good.

Yeah its been covered, I didn't skip it, I only skipped ahead briefly to see the new actor at work. I went in order.
 
Finally finished the show, fucking dammit the ending was bittersweet. It makes sense, but I wanted to see those bastards die. Really good show though, I really enjoyed it. Honestly all 4 seasons were great.
 
Spartacus is my favorite show of all time

Definitely not as much gore and sex as there was in Spartacus, but I think the writing and acting is much better. It basically centers on two fictional soldiers that were involved starting from Caesar's reign.

that's exactly how i felt, i watched the first two seasons and a little bit of the third earlier this year. finally finished it about two weeks ago.

Guilty pleasure show. I liked Crixus and Gannicus better than Spartacus.
