Beaulieu Boxing Equipment

Agree with Minowa... However there is one point... almost no Pakistani factory is (much) experienced in producing high end flawless gloves/gear. This is something you cannot learn overnight, it requires great skills, natural perfectionism and much experience in making flawless gear. The last thing makes the difference. I am not trying to say Mexican beands have all of these. Some more or less have, some do not.

they were the ones you replied to with non-sequiturs. Are Reyes better than JCs because they have more history? Is that what you're saying?

They have more experience (history) making gloves, and you can see the difference when looking at the gloves side by side.

Experience is one contributing factor to the overall skill of a craftsman clearly, and is an entirely separate thing from "history and proven usage". So is what you're actually saying that good craftsmen make good gloves? And Mexico overall has the best craftsmen? We already know that, but it doesn't exclude the possibility of there being good craftsmen in Pakistan too as evidenced by the Heritage line which you kind of dismissed before arbitrarily. It's not like they shipped in Mexican craftsmen to Pakistan and put them to work.

mmaboxing 1, $150 for the 16oz gloves would really suck when they were listed most recently on ebay at $99. It goes back to what I was saying about erratic pricing if they quoted you with $150. Moreso professionalism I'd imagine though or some sort of miscommunication hopefully.

I agree completely, and Mexican equipment in general > Pakistani. Of course we are not talking in general though, we're looking at one specific brand, and I'm pointing out the obvious fact that it's that craftmanship you are talking about that makes the gloves good and not the country of manufacture or the history or other such nonsense. So that craftmanship is what should be discussed because it's what's important at the end of the day. Basically a person shouldn't ever say:

"The price of Reyes is good because they're made in Mexico". Instead "The price is good because they've got great stitching, leather etc" and vice versa for Pakistani equipment.

So if you've never actually even seen the gloves in question then it's clearly wrong to presume they're overpriced by virtue of where they were made. We're not talking about Grant-prices here anyway, which clearly are way overpriced, and the fact that they are made in Mexico doesn't change that.

Aslo, when you practically copy Cleto Reyes's logo, people are going to compare you to Cleto Reyes; after all you are charging the same kind of money for your gear.

I think it's disingenuous when it's says "Hookset ; New Hampshire" when it's really "Islamabad ; Pakistan".

No, they don't usually sell for $150, and never have. Don't know where you got that from.

http://www.ebay.com/csc/billboxing15/m.html?LH_Complete=1&_ipg=50&_since=15&_sop=13&_rdc=1

There you'll see the actual prices they go for. Nobody bids on those 14s. If the seller wasn't happy with that price they wouldn't start it there and let it end there.

They're not the same product so it's not a good analogy. They're apples and oranges. Reyes =/= Beaulieu gloves.

The fact that something is made in Pakistan or Mexico is wholly irrelevant. Equipment's not automatically better because it's made in Japan or because it's made in the USA or Thailand or wherever. It's a better product if it's made with better craftmanship and materials and with a good design.

How can Beaulieu products be priced as highly as Mexican retailers? Well, Morales gloves Hecho En Mexico are about $80 off the top of my head. Some Solo gloves too may be even less. Clearly not all Pakistani made gloves will be below $80, or deserve to be. The point is that the country where they're made doesn't matter a lot once you actually have the end product in your hands. Did anyone here get really high hopes when Everlast announced their Made In Thailand range, for instance? I hope not.

"As a new brand they shouldn't be priced so highly when they've not been established (like the older Mexican brands which everyone knows are good)." paraphrasing. This is more a criticism of the business model if anything. If it's too expensive for someone personally to risk then fine, but if sales are good then your own financial limitation doesn't matter at all to the seller, and if enough people are happy to take the risk then why would it? Regardless, it doesn't need mentioning more than once.

A last complaint I found annoying was that there isn't a website. Some people just need to be completely spoonfed.

The criticism you want to make is that you believe you can get better quality of craftmanship and materials in a similar price range, possibly with that same depth of customisation from other brands. That's actually what's important - the product and its value, and to a lesser extent the service involved.

My own complaints would be a lack of professionalism in terms of presentation etc and the replies in this thread too, more guidance and detailed product descriptions are needed, and the pricing needs to become stable and less ambiguous. This is the biggest thing for me. I think people who should be most interested in the line are those in Europe rather than the US, too, because of low shipping costs which aren't represented by the ebay estimate (going back to poor presentation).

Umm ....Mexico has a long tradition of boxing. Both in competing and craftsmanship.
Pakistan on the other hand has a reputation for neither.....actually for nothing at all.
Hell , I'd even give the Chinese a better mark than that.

So , no , they're not the same.

Quite agree with the said above. Though personally I would most probably always pick up Mexican gear rather than Pakistani if the prices and quality are similar, however that's nothing more but a personal preference.
Actually even the price determination is more difficult than it seems. Reyes makes tons of gloves. Bill's orders are nothing comparing to this. So actually Bill's expenses on one pair might be more or less equal to Reyes expenses despite Pakistan is in general cheaper.
_lol:

That's wishful thinking.
Pakistan is a shithole .
Only place that I can think of being cheaper is probably Sudan or something similar.

Last time I checked ebay, the white and gold were $195 or so, custom cloves with gold were more than custom gloves with std. colours, where were $150.

Of course they are apples and oranges, Cletos are > than Beulieu, but I was not comparing them, I was just informing him is that you can negotiate the price of yogurt...

History and proven usage makes them better.

Well going by the prices on ebay now (the white and gold custom gloves), they droped the price, so maybe sales weren't going so well... For more reasonably priced custome gloves/gear I would talk to Mike (Gorilla), Dan (Golden), or Juan (King of Mexico)... My JC's were $110 for custom gloves, Shevlins were $115. My special colour 18oz Cleto Reyes were $154... Even the new IMFs at $120 which they dropped to $99 were on the high side for Pakistani made gloves; the Heritage are on a completely different level and nothing on the market even touches them yet.

Also, the logo is more like the old school Everlast logo rather than the Reyes, I noticed that in the gym today, one of the corner pads on the ring has them.

^this.

Ppl have this misconception that all custom gloves are 300-400 like Winnings and Grants.

I was quoted 115 for custom Zepols.

True

No way we find that in Pakistan.

Just got shipping notice for my Cleto Reyes gloves. =D

I think there are free courses in reading comprehension you can take nowadays online

Sadly , that would scarcely help in comprehending the page long swill you typed.

No need to try and justify your apparent gullibility for having bought into .........hmmm......actually nvm .....enjoy your "Hecho in Karachi" gloves !

:)

Protection wise, I am sure these gloves are just fine; the only issue with these gloves is the price, and the fact they are stamped Hookset NH, when they are made in Pakistan.

Seems to me all you have to offer are negatives. I live in Hooksett, NH and never said they were made here. All post stated Pakistan, even listing all the other brands made in the city of Sialkot, where there are like 260 shops making all brands of current name gloves. We offer custom made, colors, logos, screening options and never came close to the big name guy who charges like $450.00 for one pair of gloves, that we offer for no more than $170.00

P.S. Ask your friends at Reyes to make you custom color Reyes gloves with your logo and lettering and they'll laugh you right out of this forum.

The big name guy actually customizes it 100% to your liking. You guys say you customize like no other company but then when you ask for a certain scheme you say you cannot do it. Also The big name guy sells his non custom gloves at one rate not different rates for different people. Why do you sell your mexican style 3 ripple cuff on ebay for 99.00 (16oz) and then shoot people emails for 150.00 for the same glove? I've asked a few times on the forum and never got an answer perhaps this time it will be answered. Thank you.

For the 10th time , bill , I agree that you don't out n say it's made here but it's foolishness not to say that it's implied.

That 450 dollar guy you're constantly referring also has them on literally every major pro boxer's hands , including the P4P and PPV king.
Also it's dishonest of u to say "omg 450......450" when that price is for the exotic leathers and patterns.
His stock gloves are 140ish as are Reyes (the benchmark of gloves).

And guess what , I did ask them up at Reyes if they do custom work and they didn't laugh me out of the forum (actually they don't shill here like somebody else but that's another story)......and you know why they didn't laugh .....because they know proper customer service.
Learn some and teach your employees some too pls.

One more thing , your last sentence implies that the reason why one should choose your gloves over Reyes is customization.....in that case , if a guy just wants regular gloves , should he stay away from you ?

:icon_lol:

Guy picks the most absolutely cheapest place to make his gloves and sells them for the same (or higher) than the best gloves on the market and then wonders why am I not sold........oh and to top it all , his manager or whatever will come blathering through these forums with all sorts of verbal vomit.

Some people......
