Be prepared for more controversy

Because we have 7 different angles and 6 replays to watch?

Rules on this are pretty clear, he was intelligently defending.
7 different angles which are all inferior to the view the ref has.
Often the cameras don’t pick up on when a fighters lights go out, just because their eyes are open doesn’t mean anyone is home.
Certain subtleties are lost in translation.

Stop it too quick and people complain. Stop it too late and Dan Hardy flips out. Solution! Fight to the death no refs needed.

did you see moicano trying to get up after that? he veered straight into the cage. stoppage was absolutely fine.

You think the ref who is making split second decisions, moving out of the way of the fighters has a better view than the person at home watching 6 replays from 7 different angles?

Seriously?

He stood up after the fight was over and lost a little balance. What does it have to do with the stoppage? Moicano was pulling guard when he was down and most likely would recover. It was a shitty stoppage but i'm not surprised. This ref is one of the worst in the MMA.

Fighters shouldn’t be able to attempt to stand or defend themselves on a good stoppage.

being punch drunk in there is drinking on the job, but it’s no grounds for stopping the fight

This is what I thought as well. He was definitely near finished, but by the book he was "intelligently defending" himself. Trying to grab him into guard. Was he 1-2 punches from being done? I think so

Look at all those people in this thread who are saying it was a good stoppage. This the reason the sport is becoming soft and the world feminine.
Pretty much. It’s not about being a tough guy; it’s about not wanting to see these fighters being screwed by incompetent refs and judges.

Of course they scored it a draw. Fig keeps his belt so it doesn’t matter too much, but I certainly thought he won the fight and he deserves a win on his record.

Yes.
Do you believe everything you see on tv?
