This.

As much as I'd love to see a superhero rendition from him, if he's got another Mad Max in him, that's what I really want.

Screw del Toro. Abandoning JL Dark for freakin robots vs aliens vs Hunnam sequel.

The only thing that can redeem him if it turns out he did the PR2 so he can get the funding to make Hellboy 3.

EDIT: also, i think Miller would be more suitable to something like Planet Hulk, if a standalone Hulk movie ever gets made. Wasteland, gladiators, developing culture etc. Miller's line of work. Just imagine it, it could be named Hulk Thunderdome.

Id give miller a chance in DCU btw.

I wouldnt blame him though if decides a new project. Seeing how many years it took to complete MMFR, it can be complete refreshing doing a new project

Rumor: MAN OF STEEL 2 to Also Feature Bizarro and Supergirl

Bizarro-Supergirl-Dragonlord.jpg

Heroic Hollywood is following up on previous rumors about the Man of Steel sequel with new details about the film’s plot. The site previously reported that Braniac would be the film’s villain. The site now adds that Braniac is after the Kryptonian codex from Man of Steel, and that the codex will end up in the hands of Supergirl.

This version of Supergirl was first introduced in the Man of Steel prequel comic as a new member of the Kryptonian Explorers Guild, and organization tasked with seeking out suitable planets for terraforming and later colonization by Kryptonians. The report suggests that the plan has always been for the Man of Steel sequel to focus as much as Kara Zor-El as on her more famous cousin, and that her inclusion is what got George Miller’s attention in the first place.

The reports also states that Braniac will use what Kryptonian data he already possesses to create Bizarro to aid in his battle against the last scions of the House of El. This is all unconfirmed, of course, as future DCEU projects are still shrouded in secrecy.

Rumor: More Man Of Steel Sequel Plot Details Revealed Involving Bizarro and Supergirl

By the time they start shooting, this movie will contain 95% of Superman enemies. It will be the Suicide Squad all over again...

...but he was. Straight from the horse's (Jim Starlin) mouth:
"Kirby had done the New Gods, which I thought was terrific. He was over at DC at the time. I came up with some things that were inspired by that. You'd think that Thanos was inspired by Darkseid, but that was not the case when I showed up. In my first Thanos drawings, if he looked like anybody, it was Metron. I had all these different gods and things I wanted to do, which became Thanos and the Titans. Roy took one look at the guy in the Metron-like chair and said: 'Beef him up! If you're going to steal one of the New Gods, at least rip off Darkseid, the really good one!'"
The character started as a ripoff. He may have evolved past that in the years since his debut, but the origin is undeniable.

Of course Thanos is a Darkseid rip off. Just as Doomsday is a Hulk rip-off.

It´s gonna be weird when Supergirl is like x10 times hotter than Lois Lane,

I hope Braniac arrives to collect Metropolis and sees that it is just a crater and leaves.

Rumor: Brainiac is JUSTICE LEAGUE Foe; MAN OF STEEL 2 Dead

Brainiac-Justice-League-101014-Dragonlord.jpg

While Man of Steel looks like a success to you - $290 million domestic! $660 million global! - it fell short of expectations for Warner Bros. Just like Amazing Spider-Man 2, which earned $700 million global but still killed that franchise, Man of Steel is an underperformer. It was supposed to hit a billion. It was that underperformance that led Warner Bros to scrap sequel plans and instead shove Batman into the next Superman movie, giving us Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice rather than Man of Steel 2. According to Birth.Movies.Death, rumors have been flying that Superman's solo movies are essentially dead, that WB doesn't want to give the Big Boy Scout another movie until they have established the entire DC Movieverse.

Over at Heroic Hollywood El Mayimbe is more upbeat. He thinks that while Man of Steel 2 is on hold it isn't exactly dead, and he's even found out about the story Zack Snyder and David Goyer pitched after Man of Steel (but before WB changed their plans to BvS). According to Mayimbe the sequel would see Brainiac arriving on Earth, looking not for Superman but his cousin, Kara Zor-El, Supergirl. She was actually set up in a prequel comic that DC released that we were told was canon; in it Kara was a member of the Kryptonian 'Explorer's Guild,' who had been tasked with terraforming worlds. That means she might have been out in space when the cataclysm befell Krypton.

According to HH Man of Steel 2 was always going to be a split-hero affair, but in this case it was going to spend a lot of time on Supergirl. She would get about half the screen time, and over the course of the film Brainiac would create Bizarro to hunt her down. That means Man of Steel 2 would have Supergirl, Brainiac and Bizarro - quite the Silver Age line-up.

BMD trust El Mayimbe's sources, but the site suspects that a lot of this stuff is scrapped now, especially as every whisper the site hears about Justice League contains the word 'Brainiac.' BMD suspects elements of this story were cannibalized for the eventual team-up as well as BvS, whose main physical threat is a cross between traditional Bizarro and another well-known Superman villain. Plus, if the movie division had serious plans for Supergirl the site can't imagine they would have allowed the new Supergirl TV series to take off (the movie guys removed Suicide Squad from the toys Arrow could play with in advance of the film).

There will be another solo Superman movie some day, and it may even be in the same continuity as Man of Steel, but BMD is guessing that day is long off, and whatever plans and ideas Snyder had in 2013 will be changed and evolved when the film hits the screen.

Bill Finger to Get Credit in GOTHAM and BATMAN V SUPERMAN

Batman-v-Superman-Bill-Finger-Dragonlord.jpg

The man many comic book fans consider the co-creator of the Batman mythos is going to get the credit he deserves. DC Entertainment announced today that Bill Finger, who worked with Bob Kane on early Batman comic strips as well as co-creating Green Lantern and other characters for the company, will be receiving official credit for his work in film and television projects based on his creations.

Finger, who died in 1974, made a number of critical contributions to the Batman mythos, including coming up with the names of the hero's alter ego Bruce Wayne, as well as the city in which the hero fights crime. He was also co-creator for a number of iconic Batman characters including Robin, Catwoman and the Joker.

Although Kane received sole official credit for the character as part of the original deal signed in 1939, the artist talked in later life about Finger being an important influence on the development of the series. In his 1989 autobiography Batman and Me, Kane described Finger as "a contributing force" on the series, noting "I must admit that Bill never received the fame and recognition he deserved."

The DC Entertainment statement, released exclusively to THR, reads:

"DC Entertainment and the family of Bill Finger are pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement that recognizes Mr. Finger’s significant contributions to the Batman family of characters. 'As part of our acknowledgement of those contributions, we are pleased to confirm today that Bill Finger will be receiving credit in the Warner Bros. television series Gotham beginning later this season, and in the forthcoming motion picture Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,' Diane Nelson, President of DC Entertainment announced.

long overdue

*insert Shia clap*

Cavill isn't good enough to carry a movie by himself. To make matters worse, the no jokes rule that do has isn't helping his cause. Superman universe shouldn't be so dark always . It needs levity.

Superman Returns had a good amount of levity. And it wasn't so goddamned stupid like the MCU films too.

Dull as sin though.

Everyone wants to emulate Donner's Superman, but they somehow don't quite understand how to create the sense of fun that those films share.

Superman II is still the greatest Superman movie ever made. And I'd argue that Superman I/II as written by Mario Puzo is the greatest superhero story put to paper.
