Josh Hartnett Regrets Turning Down Chris Nolan's Batman Role
Back in the early 2000s, Josh Hartnett was on Hollywood's radar to become the next big thing. The only problem is he had no desire to become a Hollywood star. He turned down opportunities to become Spider-Man, Superman and Batman. "I somehow knew those roles had potential to define me, and I didn't want that. I didn't want to be labeled as Superman for the rest of my career. I was maybe 22, but I saw the danger," he told Details in 2014.
"I've definitely said no to some of the wrong people," Hartnett admitted to Playboy. "I learned my lesson when [writer-director] Christopher Nolan and I talked about Batman. I decided it wasn't for me. Then he didn't want to put me in The Prestige. They not only hired their Batman for it, they also hired my girlfriend (Scarlett Johansson) at the time."
"That's when I realized relationships were formed in the fire of that first Batman film and I should have been part of the relationship with this guy Nolan, who I felt was incredibly cool and very talented," Hartnett added. "I was so focused on not being pigeonholed and so scared of being considered only one thing as an actor. I should have thought, Well, then, work harder, man. Watching Christian Bale go on to do so many other things has been just awesome. I mean, he's been able to overcome that. Why couldn't I see that at the time?"
Too bad that it took him this long to figure out that good actors don't let superhero roles define them. Hartnet pledged, "I know now that I wouldn't turn something down just because it's a superhero role."

Details on Red Hood, Joker, Harley Quinn, JOHN WICK Directors
Latino Review's El Mayimbe is reporting that Jason Todd's Robin uniform will be on display in the Bat Cave in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. This isn't exactly a new rumor, but a combination of two rumors that circulated previously. One said that Jason Todd would be a part of the DC Cinematic Universe, the other reported on the Robin costume in the Bat Cave. Most fans made the logical jump that the costume would be Todd's without any need for assistance.
Mayimbe goes on to say that Todd's persona post-resurrection, the Red Hood, is now a priority character for Warner Bros. He also says that his death is the reason that the Joker and Harley Quinn are no longer happy lovebirds in Suicide Squad. Much in the same way that the Joker's brutal murder of Jason Todd signaled a tonal shift in the character in the comics, it seems likely that the murder in the cinematic universe opened Harley's eyes to just how depraved the Joker can be, driving a wedge between the two of them.
Lastly, the report suggests that Warner Bros. is looking at John Wick directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch for a future DC Comics movie, possibly Red Hood. Mayimbe also suggests that Marvel's Kevin Feige may also be looking at the directing duo, so they may find themselves the object of a superhero bidding war in the near future.

New Details on BATMAN V SUPERMAN Fight Scene Revealed
[Possible Spoilers] Hot on the heels of the first look of Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Badass Digest shares a small breakdown of the film's central conflict. Why are Batman and Superman embroiled in a fight? Well, Eisenberg may have more than a little something to do with it. Director Zack Snyder's mega movie doesn't open for another solid year but the site details how this film differs from The Dark Knight Returns (which has Superman working for the government and gives Batman the advantage over him):
"In Batman v Superman Superman is no lackey of the government; if anything many of the world's governments distrust the guy. But it is Superman who goes to Gotham and starts the confrontation' at the behest of Lex Luthor. And unlike The Dark Knight Returns, Superman comes out swinging, pulverizing the Batmobile with one punch. Why would Superman do Lex Luthor's bidding? What is Lex hoping to accomplish? That would be spoiling. But know that when the fight is over, Batman will be able to point to Superman and say, 'He started it!'"

Christina Wren Returns as Carrie Farris in DAWN OF JUSTICE
Actress Christina Wren, who portrayed Major Carrie Farris in Man of Steel, revealed in an interview with the Pittsburgh Magazine that she is going to be reprising her role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. "The casting director just got in touch with me," Wren said on how she got the good news. "I got to know her a bit through the first project, Man of Steel because she had to hunt me down a little bit; she just called me directly, which is always nice. It's more personal."
"We filmed mostly in August," Wren added. "I was out in Detroit. Back a little bit in September. I can tell you that I think it's going to be badass! They're just such an awesome team. The bits that I was on set for look fantastic. Everyone in it is fantastic. It's exciting. it's high-energy. it's high-action. They are addressing all of the things that they set up in Man of Steel."
"So there's some gossip," Wren on whether her character will play a key role in the future DC movies. "This has not been officially confirmed with me at all. But my character's name is Carrie Farris; there's a character named Carol Farris who's the Green Lantern's girlfriend and turns into this superhero, Star Sapphire. But I have no idea if that's the plan; they're not even slated to do a Green Lantern film for several years."
