BATMAN V SUPERMAN v.10 (First Twitter Reactions)

The thing with the Supergirl angle is that the ancient ship she was piloting that crashed on earth and ended up in a glacier did so thousands of years ago. Based on the prequel comic, people speculated that she would be the ancestor of the amazons, before they confirmed that Wonder Woman would be a magically empowered character, rather than descending from some tribe of diluted Kryptonians.

Dev Em also appears and dies in both the prequel comic and the MoS movie.

I'm guessing this news is either BS, the comic is not that canon or they're gonna need to do some serious retconning.

Is that really confirmed about Wonder Woman? Maybe the Greek Gods were descendants of Krypton all along. I also think that's more of a interested take to the character. Magic is just lazy writing, imo.

I take it you despise a huge portion of the DC Canon?

Hopefully we'll get some news out of NYCC today

Check out this "Battle torn Batman" costume I wore at a con a few months ago. Pretty dope, thought I'd share.

Oh, and I made this costume myself.

Just like they confirmed that the Arkham Knight is a new character in the Arkham Knight.

Where is the source that The Amazons aren't desendents of Kryptonians?

The only source I can find is that some guy claiming that WonderWoman is a goddess and her father is Zues. That can be interpretated in so many ways. That doesn't confirmed that the Amazons aren't evolved people of Krptoninans.

Rumor: BATMAN V SUPERMAN Budget Ballooned to $410 Million

Rumors out of New York Comic Con this year had Marvel gearing up to spend a full $1 billion on the production of Avengers: Infinity War parts one and two. Reportedly, the above-the-line costs to actors, screenwriters and the Russo Brothers' directing would total $400 million alone, with the lion's share going to Robert Downey Jr to return as Iron Man. It wasn't mentioned if the $1 billion estimate would include postproduction and marketing, but it is a huge number for two films either way.

Latino Review has been hearing that Marvel Studios isn't the only superhero house that's been having issues with ballooning budgets. The site also hears that Warner Bros is willing to drop a lot of money on Zack Snyder's vision for a Marvel-competitive DC cinematic universe.

Right now, Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice's budget has ballooned to $410 million dollars. That means it is in the running for being the most expensive movie ever shot. The current record holder is Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, according to financial statements obtained by Forbes.

How costs got so high for what was once Man of Steel 2 is something we probably won't know until well after the movie opens, but the addition of big name cast members, practical sets, and an extended production schedule could have all contributed.

But just because WB was willing to pump money into kickstarting a bunch of superhero movies doesn't mean that Zack Snyder now has free budgetary reign over the next installments he's directing. Latino Review's sources are now telling the site that the two-part Justice League movie--which is set to be released in 2017 and 2019, respectively--is going to be relatively reasonably budgeted at $500 million for the production of both films.

Justice League is prepping now in London for a 16-month production run, including pre-production and physical production.

Hot Rumor: 'Batman v Superman' Budget Dwarfs Upcoming 'Justice League' Budget

Spend 5 billion for your terribly overrated franchise, I spit on you DC/WB!

To Prod only. :icon_chee

$410 million!? Justice League will probably balloon towards $2 billion

Thought I read on this site, but I did some googling for shits and giggles:
Seems the rumor got started by someone speculating on her origin based on nothing at all:

hat do they need all that money for? What can they do with $410 million that they can't do with $275 million?

Hopefully this is going towards practical effects and less CGI.

I'm guessing the over budget is due to rewrites and trying to cram all the DC characters in it.

^ I've been looking at that cover picture of Batman for a good 5 minutes now, and I just can't help but imagine Mac from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia under the hood, from when he was in his fat phase.

That would be my guess. Some films end up with really inflated budgets because the end total includes false starts (like when Disney basically redid Tangled from the ground up and the final budget of $260mil is the figure for both the aborted and released versions combined). IIRC Chris Terrio's rewrites were fairly major and happened after filming had already started. The production schedule also got stretched way out, going from an initial unspecified 2014 release all the way back to March 2016. It also wouldn't surprise me if that big $410mil total includes work that was done to lay groundwork for Justice League (like the costume for Aquaman). Basically, an extra year or more worth of production and major changes along the way aren't cheep.
