it wasn't an amazing movie, but i didn't go there expecting to see an academy award winner. i just wanted to see batman and superman fight, that's it. and the movie delivered on that.

their main problem is just bad actors in the main parts. they hired people b/c they look the part, b/c henvry cavill and gal gadot look like those characters, but man they can't act for shit. and then what the fuck compelled them to hire jesse eisenberg, b/c he's really, really awful. he was by far the worst thing in the entire movie.

so for all the hate ben affleck got in the buildup to the movie, i'd say entertainment media owes him a big fucking apology b/c despite his own bad acting skills, he looks like mother fucking marlon brando compared to the troop they collected for this movie.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN Smashes Records with $166.1M U.S. Debut and $420.1M Globally

In a much-needed win for Warner Bros., Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
opened to a massive $166.1 million from 4,242 theaters, a defining moment in DC Entertainment's battle to compete with Marvel's superhero universe. It also helped deliver the biggest Easter weekend in history, up 13.5 percent over last year's record level, which was fueled by Furious 7.

On Sunday, Warners put the movie's opening at $170.1 million, but traffic slowed on Sunday. Instead of being the No. 6 opening of all time, it is the No. 7, although it remains the fourth-best launch of all time for a superhero film behind a trio of Marvel titles: The Avengers ($207.4 million), Avengers: Age of Ultron ($191.3 million) and Iron Man 3 ($174.1 million), not accounting for inflation.

Had the $170.1 million held, BvS would have marked the biggest opening in history for Warners, beating the final Harry Potter film ($169 million). On Sunday, the studio highlighted this fact in a press release listing the movie's numerous accomplishments, many of which still hold.

Batman v Superman also made history globally with $420.1 million, the No. 4 worldwide bow of all time behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($529 million), Jurassic World ($524.9 million) and the final Harry Potter film ($483.2 million). The movie benefited mightily from opening day-and-date everywhere, including in China, where it amassed $57.3 million. Its international take was $254 million, the biggest for any superhero pic.

The previous biggest superhero opening was The Avengers, with a global bow of $392.5 million (that film didn't have the advantage of opening everywhere at the same time). In terms of China, Avengers: Age of Ultron still easily holds the crown with a debut of $155.8 million two weeks after the sequel opened in North America.

Batman v Superman's mega-performance is all the more impressive considering it earned dismal notices and a mediocre B CinemaScore. The previous best domestic opening for a DC Entertainment film was Christopher Nolan's final Batman films, The Dark Knight Rises, which debuted to $160.9 million in summer 2012.

This is a great theory and it definitely helps make sense of things...

But it also highlights how DC/WB dropped the ball with the writing of this movie.

You really think most people are going to dig so deep to get a better understanding of that nightmare? No, for most people it will be a sequence that made no sense.

Marvel did it the right way by teasing Shield and revealing Fury and his Avenger initiative. That was something the fans could get excited for, and it clearly gives the general audience an idea of things to come.

This Knightmare sequence isn't going to mean much for most people. I actually kind of hate how they are already trying to introduce the idea of alternate universes when they haven't even established much in this universe yet.

Anyway, the movie got a 4 out of 10 from me. I saw what they were trying to do, but it could have been done better. It wasn't very entertaining either. Eisenberg as Luther was a mistake, and that whole "our mom's have the same name, so I don't have to kill you, let's be friends" was pure Bulls hit.

except that's not really what happened. Clark was begging for his mothers life and in doing so shocked Bruce into realizing that this is a person, and not just an alien that has to be put down. that humanized him, and the fact that their mothers had the same name made it have that much more of an impact on Bruce. It made him realize why even became the Batman, and killing someone that's just trying to do good goes against that.

Haha yeah ok.. Super tried to level with the guy a few times before that. It wasn't until he said Martha, which Lois was somehow able to hear in a car somewhere and understand what was going on, did bats try to use his bat brain, after Lois told him the deal

BULLSHIT

So many people have misunderstood the meanings in this film it is honestly sad :(

Yes it was rushed and yes things could have been done differently but all you need is half a brain and some slight knowledge of teh DC comics and you'd all realise this film is just a comic nerdgasm that should be enjoyed and we should all be excited for the next few years for what is coming.

As Kiddo716 stated that scene is a turning point for not only the film but the series as for the first time Batman looked at Superman as a human being not just some alien here to kill us at that moment the Justice League began.

I can understand the hate for that scene and definitely think they could have executed it a lot better, but the "Martha" thing wasnt about the names. It was about the fact that Superman was a guy trying to save his mom, similar to Batman. Except this time they can save her. Also, Superman scared for his mom's life is very human, bringing down the whole "you're not brave, men are brave (...) you dont know their pain, their mortality" argument. He does understand pain and mortality. He's essentially losing his parents, just like Batman.

Have to say that whole 'Martha' bit was abysmal. I was expecting a pile of shite but was surprised at how ok it was, nothing special but worth a watch. Ben afleck was a decent batman IMO.

They really need to stop showing the entire movies plot in trailers FFS!

Moment Justice League began. I suppose that makes sense since they established Lois has super hearing. She is Super girl and doesn't even know it.

Damn how could I miss that?

Super hearing?

She was standing right next to bruce when he was screaming martha

I read on yt that the Satan looking dude could also be Darkseid's dad, Yoka Khan or something like that. I'm baffled that they cut this scene and left half of the useless crap in there. A question, how exactly did CIA manage to infiltrate one of their agents as a photographer without Lois' or Morpheus' knowledge? Did she pick a photographer via Craigslist add?
