Zack Snyder Confirms Cyborg Mother Box Origin Scene in BATMAN V SUPERMAN

During Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice's opening weekend, hardcore comic book fans were pretty sure they knew what it was Silas Stone used to transform his dismembered and dying son into the being we will all come to know as Cyborg in next year's Justice League Part One.

Casual fans, of course, were likely baffled, as the mysterious, moving box wasn't named or explained, other than to say it was an alien artifact.

Well, Batman V Superman and Justice League director Zack Snyder has now confirmed that the item fans saw in that scene was indeed a Mother Box.

“That’s the first glimpse of the Mother Box there,” Snyder told EW of Cyborg's origin, which was glimpsed briefly in Batman V Superman. “It was an agonizing birth.”

It seems likely that we'll soon start to learn much more about how Jack Kirby's Fourth World plays into the film; the Knightmare sequence featured Parademons, Cyborg's origin featured a Mother Box, and a deleted scene released earlier today featured what looks like either Steppenwolf or Yuga Khan, both emissaries of Darkseid, ruler of Apokolips.

PING! PING! Batman V Superman Director Confirms The Nature of Cyborg's Origin

Anyone seen the leaked deleted scene? Here it is...

Maybe the deleted scenes would help this make more sense, considering the new Director's cut is supposed to have 30 minutes of extra footage.

Starring Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor, the scene appears to be from Batman v Superman Ultimate Cut.

The release, which will debut this summer is reported to have 30 additional minutes of footage.

Eisenberg shares the screen with an unidentified model of some creature, who appears to be holding Mother Boxes.

Mother Boxes are the technology from Darkseid’s Apokolips and the same device used to turn Victor Stone into Cyborg.

I've written a post on this subject before (pre-migration, not going to bother trying to dig it up). Having them be twin cities on the eastern seaboard is not new, with multiple sources showing them split by Delaware Bay. This location isn't hard canon but it's also not something Snyder simply pulled out of his ass for the film.
Here's your original post last July 2015 after Snyder revealed at Comic-Con that Metropolis and Gotham will be neighboring cities.

This is nothing new. Snyder may have said it is at the comic-con panel, but the twin-cities concept hass been used off and on since at least the late 70s (pic from a '78 comic):

The exact location of the cities change depending on the story, but they're still generally much closer than San Fran/LA.

II think the problem was that it felt as if superman just found out about batman after being in metropolis for how long? 18 months?

If batman was doing work for 18 months before the movie even started you would think superman working at a newspaper would hear about it

Thats the only problem I have with that

What sup with Doomsday being this weakness bitch. Wonder Woman was repelling every shit he threw at her.

And throwing the spear into the water then Louis without talking to anyone, realize she must go back in for its the only weapon to stop Doomsday..

I can understand the hate for that scene and definitely think they could have executed it a lot better, but the "Martha" thing wasnt about the names. It was about the fact that Superman was a guy trying to save his mom, similar to Batman. Except this time they can save her. Also, Superman scared for his mom's life is very human, bringing down the whole "you're not brave, men are brave (...) you dont know their pain, their mortality" argument. He does understand pain and mortality. He's essentially losing his parents, just like Batman.
This is deep methophor. The regret of not saving his mom, allowed him to halt killing Superman, when her name was called

HBO has been showing The Dark Knight Returns the animated movie. Peter Weller Robocop voices Batman. You can see a lot of similarities between that and BvS

The more I think about it the more this film moves up in my rankings. Gonna rewatch this week and see if this is just a 'Death of the Author' type scenario or whether it is justified by what I see on screen.

Was Doomsday weak or was Diana just strong as hell?

I think this is Snyders darkest CBM yet. You could tell they tried to use the soundtrack to lighten things up a bit but fuck this movie is about as as dark as a Superman/Batman/WW movie could be. Batman is a psycho is this movie, it was also tough seeing Superman so vulnerable, he was like a baby when he cried out his moms name to Batman. He was getting fucked up in this movie in so many ways, physically, mentally, emotionally, it was kinda hard seeing an icon like that in those situations.

Doomsday was not weak in this movie whatsoever, honestly he looked kinda goofy buy he is a scary mofo in this movie, the guy laughs off a nuke, it took 3 justice leage members, Batmans kryptonite gas and Superman with a kryptonite spear just to kill him. Also Diana is ridiculously strong and invulnerable both in comics and this film, but she really couldn't do shit to DD, she cuts off his arm and it makes him better, one on one the battle will go for hours but DD probably takes it.

That dream scene messed me up. I had to search online to try and p
Nah I dont want to hate it. I still saw it after reading poor reviews. I'll admit I'm more of a marvel fan of but I do have a collection of some DC comics.

I just don't get how they thought they could throw a time traveling flash in the middle of the movie when they haven't even introduced the flash or the things he can do.

I don't get how they can cast a bumbling dweeb as the guy who plays games of psychology and intelligence with people.

I don't get how Lois was always a part of these major situations.

I might have made some cynical remarks a while back but those were mostly directed at fanny trying to put the movie on a pedestal.

I agree with everything you said. I didn't even get that it was Flash until I read it on here. I thought it was something they'd explain later, but never did. My friend that went with me said the same thing. We just chalked it up to being a bad dream.

I also thought Jesse Eisenberg was awful. The character just didn't fit. Lex Luthor was not just intelligent, but charismatic. He went on to become the fucking president for christ sake. The Lex in the movies was weird and anti social. He couldn't even give a simple speech without sounding like a douche.

I think it will struggle to get to 350 Million , surprised by the drop off from Friday to Sat

Seems like a troll post. Also if Snyders intent was to give props to King Arthur - the most is still flawed. Just because it gives an homage, doesn't automatically make it awesome - not arguing with you Big Brown but his post is pretty pointless .

Nah not a troll post Snyder made it pretty obvious by making Excalibur what they went to go see when Bruce's parents die

Saw it yesterday and thought it was just kinda there. I felt bad for parents who brought their young kids, because a good chunk of the movie was just blah and sluggish.

I don't agree with all the love for Affleck's version of Wayne/Batman. He did a decent job but everything was just so bland he didn't have much to work with. I thought this version of Batman was honestly kinda boring.

The dream sequences were nonsense and the vision Bruce had was almost embarrassingly bad.

dream sequence in the desert where you saw that big symbol was the omega sign, the flying demons were from darkseids planet apokolips, he essentially made his way to earth and wrecked havoc, it's a different timelilne of what would be if flash didn't intervene the timeline to warn bruce. Unfortunately this movie has some deep storyline that normal viewers wouldn't get, they needed to do research.

the deleted scenes offer more informations.
