BANGER photo from Pride FC got me thinking

I love that the dude who looks like a small child in this pic is the most dangerous person in the arena.

That wasn't half bad, TS.
Nog vs Sapp is probably the coolest MMA fight ever. Nog said he actually went out when Sapp went Zangief, but luckily just for a moment.
PRIDE NEVER DIE!

Just to correct one thing, Schilt didn't kill Vitali Mitu. The guy had a pulmonary edema already and pneumonia, Schilt was the last guy to spar with him and was haunted with the idea that he might have killed him, but 100% the guy was on his way out and didn't know it.

To my brathers who appreciated this thread I'm thankful to you for reading it. It seems these days everything is about recency bias while other sports have great histroianism.

MMA lacks this, mostly because the way the UFC marketing machine works is to convince the normie that what theyre watching today is the best product thats ever been and this machine is so effective it results in the fans of today having ZERO HESPECT and zero appreciation for the history of the game.

I'm going to try to make more threads like this down the line the shine a light on the history of this great sport and put a spotlight on some moments which have been lost in time and forgotten. Hespect. 🙏

I was a little dipshit back then, probably around 12-14. Had no clue at all about any fighting sports, but loved to watch the K1 that was shown on Eurosport and eventually that led me to watch KO compilations on Youtube which showed me Pride.

I rewatched most of it way later because I had no way to watch as a youngster but Fedor definitely had that Aura about him back then. Just seemed invincible. Truly an insane time for MMA, MMA might have evolved, even gotten better technically but all the unknowns back then, the openweight, the ruleset and basically how little the majority of people knew about the sport and what they was watching made it that more special.

I still listen to the Pride soundtrack all the time, the Japanese definitely know how to put on a show.

@Duck Dodgers you need to have content like this on your radio show. Reel history and reel knowledge from reel fans. Those dorks you have on there don't spit bars like this.

Oh man I gotta drop this in this thread. The pre fight hype video and WWII music in the background while showing Fedors footage. The production. The entrances. The ambience. The atmosphere. The crowd. The voice of the announcer who sounds like he hangs out with Yakuza and smokes two packs of Marlboro reds every day. All that jazz followed by the violence which Fedor unleashed on poor Gary. Fedor started punching heem in the face with the ultra violence and didn't stop until it was time to finish him off with soccer kicks. All while Mark Coleman is yelling, "You're fine Gary!" Fedor was a vicious bastard. What an absolute spectacle.
