See, doesn't that feel better?

As I said if your making a spy action thrill you don't want the characters grandstanding as much as if your making a space opera, you want something a bit more down to earth.

The action in Winter Solider was actually one of the most pleasant surprises in the MCU as a whole for me. I mean the stunt unit probably had a significant impact but someone like Nolan never picked up that knowhow.

Oh is that what you said?

I gotta buddy who is a dyed-in-the-wool Marvelhead, or Mark if you will, and he keeps defending the MCU with categorization such as this. "You can't judge all the films the same! One is a comedy. One is a fantasy. One is a Cold War Spy thriller!"

"Dude, I said all the good villains are bald!"

Don't get lost in the example of the "hero shot." What I said was they came a long way as directors. That's a good thing.

I'm aware of those scenes. Cap was shown in a lot of scenes.

Still going with under 3 minutes of screen time for Cap. We'll find out soon enough. I'll have no problem eating crow if I'm wrong.

I was wrong.

Cap had a total screen time of 6:46. That's counting any scene he was in at all, including scenes in which he would have just piece of his shoulder or body in a shot.

Screen time focused on Cap was 4:15.

Either way, I was wrong.

There was a good bit that was done by the cast themselves.

My review of this movie:

Plot holes like why didn't Strange use the Time Stone or do the portal closing trick are not as bad as Zemo lure in Civil War so it didn't affect me.

What mildly does affect me is everyone's nigh indestructibility such as Wanda crashing through glass roofs and dozens of feet onto hard floor and walking away from it like nothing.

Loki dying a hero's death could really be the end of his story-line and should be revisited should it not be an illusion and he doesn't come back for any more movies.

Rocket acting as the sane voice to Thor's madness was cool.

Yea Wanda getting hurt didn't make any sense. They should have showed her using her powers as a sort of shield\cushion.

I may be one of the rare ones that preferred the Jusitce League movie. Marvel has too many characters with shit powers for the sake of it. Outisde of Thor, Hulk, Strange and maybe Iron Man w/ plot device the rest are redunant when it comes to Thanos level power.
DC did a cruddy job on their CGI but in my opinion the characters are more compelling.

They did that, except for the first time she got shot by surprise and put through the window. That probably should have mangled her. But maybe she's also extra durable as a power and they just don't talk about it.

Thats strange I know someone on the net who's convinced himself the Starwars sequels are great cinema and loves a good gif in the place of an argument.

As far as the style of their films goes your not looking at a pure spy thriller with Winter Solider but you are clearly looking at a film that has more of that influence to it which feeds though into the action. That means generally more focus on making it realistic and gritty with a sense of constant danger and less focus on big "hero shots" plus indeed the heroes themselves obviously standing out rather less.

gotta be around that, he looked bigger in Thor 1 than he is now..... but he's like 6'4 or 6'5. gotta be at least 230 when he's bulked up

Yeah, in the first Thor movie he was huge. In the later movies he seems to have more athletic, hybrid athlete type of build, but he's still the biggest guy on the field. With the exception of Drax, of course.

It's pretty typical I'd find someone online who likes to repeat the obvious, and call it wit.

Hey, chief, if that's how YOU like to analyze films, that's just great. Just terrific. Might you consider that someone else might have a different way of going about it? Maybe that person is talking about something a bit different from what you're talking about. Or rather, your talking about?

Agreed 100%

Cap and Hulk are going to shine like how Tony and Thor did in IW

They also got rid of all the solo/none avenger popular characthers (Spider-man, Dr Strange, Black Panther and most of the GotG) so Cap. Thor, IM and Hulk will carry the film like they did Avengers 1 and 2.

Expect Ant man to be secondary comic relief and Captain Marvel to show up past mid point of the film.

I'm impressed at how they ended the movie. Finally a story with teeth, and a villain whose competence isn't undermined by total failure when it counts the most.

yeah Ive got a theory they asked Chris Pratt to put on a bit of weight so he didnt look as impressive as Hemsworth(or close to it) cos he got in mega shape for GotG 1 and 2

In the next movie Thanos is going to use his gauntlet on Thor to make him skinny Thor. Then Helmsworth has to stay on.

And I hope Drax gets to use his invisibility technique in GOTG3, successfully, in battle.

Ah I must have missed it then. I really only cared about the scene with her and vision falling from the sky right before Cap showed up.
