I may be one of the rare ones that preferred the Jusitce League movie. Marvel has too many characters with shit powers for the sake of it. Outisde of Thor, Hulk, Strange and maybe Iron Man w/ plot device the rest are redunant when it comes to Thanos level power.
DC did a cruddy job on their CGI but in my opinion the characters are more compelling.
Ban and ignore. You need to be removed from the gene pool.

yeah Ive got a theory they asked Chris Pratt to put on a bit of weight so he didnt look as impressive as Hemsworth(or close to it) cos he got in mega shape for GotG 1 and 2

They didn't even need to with clothes you can barely tell he even works out. Chris Hemworth is to bodied up for Pratt to even be a contest. He's barely got chest definition in that shot, his abs look good and that's about it. His arms\shoulders are ok. Hemsworth has abs, chest, arms, traps, etc.

Yes and Superman made the whole JL redundant. All the JL movie did was make you wonder why they need the JL in the first place Superman can do it all by himself.

Yes, but my not looking at a pure spy thriller with Winter Solider but you are clearly looking at a film that has more of that influence to it which feeds though into the action what?

Hey, chief, if that's how YOU like to analyze films, that's just great. Just terrific. Might you consider that someone else might have a different way of going about it? Maybe that person is talking about something a bit different from what you're talking about. Or rather, your talking about?

Sorry absolutely no idea what your point is with that opening line, basically mangling what I'd posted so it makes no sense?

To make the point more simply, Winter Solider isn't trying to exactly copy the style of a spy thriller but it is clearly somewhat influenced by them including the action.

How I analyse films is to offer my own opinion on statements made about them backed up by some kind of argument where as you respond with a gif putdown then moan about intolerance of others views, basically your being a hypocrite.

The Russos are slipping. Their last two films haven't been as good as the one before them.
Are you just saying you like WINTER SOLDIER more than CIVIL WAR and INFINITY WAR?

Next AVENGERS title? WAR (WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR)?

This sounds like a two-sided discussion I want to continue.

The potential is all there. wonder woman, flash, aquman, cyborg can all pull their weight and have lots of room to explore/show their powers more (GL and MM also included but not in the first movie)
The avengers have c level characters like black widow fighting thanos henchmen and keeping them honest.
And others like Wanda with random red magic magic powers.

Im not knocking the film i think its great but marvel in general has to much disney gloss on it.

I'v said nothing that suggests any of that at all.

You made a comment about the Russo's progressing as directors, I responded that I felt this progress was actually a product of the differing style of the films, you responded by posting a gif putdown, I responded by offering more detail of my argument, you responded with another gif and then started whining about not taking others views seriously, perhaps you need to look in the mirror a little before doing that?

Yes. I'm trolling slightly when I say the Russos are slipping. Winter Soldier is my favorite MCU movie, Infinity War is probably my second favorite. Civil War I'm unsure of it's placement, but at least top 5. Overall the Russos have made the best MCU movies imo, although James Gunn could give them a run for their money with a strong showing in Guardians vol 3.

edit: I was also intentionally ignoring that Civil War and especially Infinity War were much bigger and more challenging projects.

To each their own I enjoyed DC's take on Superman in MOS but everything since then has been utter trash other than Wonder Woman. Having great character with great powers is always nice to have but it doesn't mean anything when you can't write a half decent story with those characters. Every single story\villian has been absolute trash and embarrassingly bad. I wont even go to the movies for DC anymore I'm done with them.

There was a good bit that was done by the cast themselves.

Yeah, Evans especially but in terms of the Russo's directing the action I suspect the stunt coordinators played a significant role in setting things up. Still though you have someone like Nolan for example who had the potential to use other talent yet arguably never really delivered great hand to hand action in his Batman films so it was impressive to see the Russo's pick it up so well in one film.

Perhaps you could make the argument that action can be a lot like physical comedy? Welcome to Collingwood had a good deal of that in it.

I tend to agree about Gunn, although I think GOTG1 is the better film GOTG2 exhibited a smoother, more self-assured narrative. The music was a bit worse, tho.

I still think Edgar Wright's ANT-MAN was the best directed MCU film so far.

Let me know when you've caught up to where I am in this conversation.

I wasn't planning on seeing this movie, I went to help my buddy this morning work on his house and we ended up going to see this after. It was better than I thought it would be, and not as nearly as filled with forced humor and one liners as previous movies.

Although there was a woman who forced laughed at anything Tony Stark said and really random moments, like when the caption said "Space" right before we catch up with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Fixed that for you. No charge:)

I felt the opening of MOS was pretty decent as was the exile story as a whole but the Daily Planet story felt like it was being pushed in too early making everything a lot more cluttered than it needed to be.

Going back to the originals it seemed like trying to do Superman 1 & 2 at the same time not leaving enough space to do either as well.
