I wish DC would step their game up to make it competitive with the MCU.

As far as their heroes being more compelling? Sure, from a power stand point. But it's not even close between heroes personalities. The varying C level powered characters are able to give you movies like Winter Soldier, Ant Man, Homecoming, etc.

As much as i love flashy battles and fight scenes and god like beings duking it out. I love seeing agile, well choreographed, street level combat as well. I can only take Superman flying into someone and smashing him into buildings so many times

bro its just horrible story telling by their part. they had every chance to make good movies

I gotta come clean.

I ain't seen a fucking Marvel movie in theaters since Civil War or Guardians 2... whichever came last.

I'm a bad fan.

DC their most compelling characters are a insane clown and a dude with weird regen Deadpool/Wolverine type powers that wears an orange mask like he's a hunter during deer season.

This is probably more of a production company thing but DC since the Bale trilogy ended seems to have struggled a ton to get even their Batman and Superman lines rolling and those are their marque guys.

Go back to 2005 and you tell me Ant-Man would be something that people would be looking forward to watching or that Guardians of the Galaxy would help break box office records MOST of us would have openly laughed in Kevin Feige's face.

Like, in WHAT WORLD does a very secondary to the ordinary public's perception of superheores will Ant-Man 2 most likely out do JL and shit at the box office?

Paul Rudd chuckling when he grows to giant size cracks me up no matter how many times I hear it<45><Lmaoo>

Perhaps the Nolan Batman films are part of the issue? I could see DC being annoyed at having to give over that level of control and then having to deal with Nolan taking a break for Inception and then walking away after 3 films.

Really though I think Nolans Batman is actually more similar to the MCU in concept, it takes existing material and has a talented director and cast work it over themselves to make something interesting for the screen. DC's EU films to me seem based more on the idea that having the characters onscreen alone is enough to draw interest.

Marvel has merged its characters with the actors playing them much more successfully I'd say and that represents a lot of their draw.

I fucking love that clip. I think I watched that trailer and the DP 2 one like 2-3 times each today.

I think you hit it on the "actor" part.

When I think of any of the MCU characters, even one's I followed prior to the Netflix shows or movies I picture the actors playing them. ESPECIALLY for the big ones like Cap, Bucky, IM, and Thor.

When I think of Batman I think of Bale and when I think of like Bane I think of Hardy. The only one they've been successful with that I think is WW.

Some fucking teenaged boy broke my daughter's heart today...

He spoiled Infinity Wars for her, she was waiting for me to come home from underway to see it (she even told her boyfriend MCU movies we're our thing)

Going to need to dig a hole for that fucker

Fault lies with the parent. If it was you and your daughters thing then you should of bought opening day tickets and had that memory. Take it as a learning experience. to bad it came from one of the most epic movies of all time

I really can't understand this part of the sentence.

Did you pick up on the tea-bagging scene? What Deadpool does to Cable is exactly what Reynolds did in the teaser when he was playing out the scene with two action figures!<45>

I 100% caught that.

The "so dark, where you from? The DC Universe?" line hits home pretty hard to this discussion of Marvel films vs DC films.

Again, pre Iron Man 1... I seriously doubt even with Reynold under the mask they'd have felt comfortable dropping THAT line into a Deadpool movie.

You look at the poster for Infinity War and its a bit of a giveaway isn't it? you can't really see many of the characters costumes and few of them are swearing any kind of mask, we don't need to see that because Chris Evans = Captain America, Scarlett Johanson = Black Widow etc

You look at the Justice League posters and it just the opposite, even the closeups of the faces are really pushing that its Batman, The Flash, etc with much less focus on who's playing them bar Wonderwoman.

Everything's been going wrong for them ever since the end of the Nolan Batman trilogy. Man of Steel was supposed to be a $billion earner just as the Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises had been. For it to not crack $700 million was a bitter disappointment for Warner Bros. They panicked and thought it must be Batman that brings in the big numbers. so they brought in a rebooted Batman for Supes v Bats. Not a bad idea in and of itself, except they also went way overboard adding Wonder Woman and shoehorning in cameos for the Justice League so they could fast track their team up movie and cash in on the success of the Avengers.

Once again this failed, despite a lot of fans turning out opening weekend for the novelty factor of seeing Superman and Batman together in a film for the first time, plus Wonder Women being in any movie for the first time. Most people hated the movie, and although it made more than Man of Steal it still fell short of that $billion goal, which was surely an even more bitter disappointment for Warners. In 2008 and again in 2012 they managed to crack $1 billion with just Batman, not they're throwing out Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman all together and still can't match their previous achievements.

And of course the real fallout of all this is the complete of utter failure of Justice League, and the poisoning of the well of all future DC properties for the next several years. I fully expect Aquaman to flop harder than Justice League, probably by a significant amount. Wonder Woman 2 next year should do decent business since people actually liked the first movie, but I doubt it makes much more than it's predecessor.

I know someone who think the fast and furious are the greatest movies ever mad e. He’s also an idiot

The DC shit that's on TV can't even hold a candle to what Marvel has done:

Compare the combat you see in Punisher to the shit you see in like Arrow and it's not even close.

Of the DC "TV" shit Gotham is probably the one I like the most and I think that's cause it's a bit of a CSI/Law and Order type crime show that just happens to be set in the DC Universe.

EDIT:
The one caveat to what I said is the fucking Iron Fist and Daredevil shows... they go a little overboard with the 1980s wire martial arts shit in those IMO.

Daredevil 1 has the best fight scene Marvel has produced thus far
