I'm actually glad they made him like this.
Thanos is supposed to get a lot of screen time here. It's his movie.
A deep, monsterish voice, and red or white eyes wouldn't work for a movie that has him at the forefront. It would look too cartoonish and distracting, imo. We don't need the character forgotten because we ended up focusing more on his voice ( a la Nolan Batman and Bane)
I think they're focusing on his smarts here. With Brolin's voice and the shit that Thanos does and says..it can most definitely be menacing and scary
I don't know if this has been posted, but...from Joe Russo...
"Interestingly enough, I'll start out by saying Thanos, even though he's not a character that had a huge preexisting story in the Marvel universe. He was a threat, but he was not developed in any way up to this point. Thanos has an incredible amount of screen time in this film, in a lot of ways I would say it's his movie. Our job when we make these films - and what we feel is important to us - is to surprise the audience. We wanted to tell a story that they weren't expecting, and the story is told from the point of view of a villain, which I think is also really unique and risky for a commercial film that will surprise the audience. I think this is a market where the audience really enjoys innovation and disruption, and we want to do something innovative in this space. So I think Thanos has an incredible amount of screen time, and I think you'll find that Thor has a really interesting arc in the film. He hasn't been at the forefront of other Avengers movies, but he certainly has a very important role in this film. So I'll say, Thanos and Thor."

Thor and Thanos have the most screen time. I knew that this was going to be Thanos' movie, so im not surprised about him, but I didn't think Thor would be that big a player here.
Interestinggg
I do wonder how they're going to do this going forward now that Marvel has most of their characters back.
Part of me loves these long, plans that lead to a big bad...but the other side of me feels it will be much more difficult to do this going forward--and will probably take away from the individual movies .
The Avengers, the Xmen, and the Fantastic 4 are pretty much THE Marvel teams. And although they have all teamed up together in the past, they also have their own separate villains , struggles, and agendas. If you put the Xmen in to help against Galactus then why don't the Avengers or the F4 help with the Dark Phoenix, or Apocalypse ?
I don't see how it will be feasible to keep doing mashups like these...particularly with the Xmen. They have a lot of their own shit going on, and usually deal with other mutants
AMC is running 31 hour marathons with all the movies.I believe FX is gonna run a marathon of every Marvel MCU film up to the Black Panther prior to the Infinity War premiere. So keep an eye out if you want to catch them.
They aren’t necessary viewing, but definitely help the total overall picture.
He's been hanging out with the Wakandan's and is starting to feel a little inadequate and is compensating for something...Not just the longest MCU movie but Bucky also has the longest magazine ever. Look at that thing!

Maybe we get to see Cap and Bucky vs Thanos here.

I'm with him. The last thing I would want is your CG'd up voice over and look. This is definitely a 'to each their own' thing.<{cruzshake}>
Well I would argue the Tolkien movies and Star Wars movies represent Cinematic Universes.we have seen a lot of great movies these past centuries, great action flick, exhilarating adventure movies, drama movies with deep meaning and lots of hilarious comedy.
but a successful cinematic universe, i don't think that is ever been achieved before.
i can't wait to be part of this historic event.

To me a CU has to be more than just sequels or prequels. They have to create a universe or world where many tangential story lines and characters can exist but there is always that connection.
I really can't express enough how much respect I have for what Feige and co. have done in building this up over the years. When you think back to just a decade ago, just a decade- there was just Iron Man. That was it. And now ten years later, just look at Avengers Infinity War and how much many of us as fans are invested in this because of how well all these other films have done in adding to the universe.
