Movies AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR v.12

Great to see the continuity between the entire arch of films.
 
This guy puts out the best videos on possibilities for Avengers 4 and future MCU movies.








 
If it was just the culmination of all the other movies and the debut of Thanos it would have been good enough. But they didn't just introduce Thanos as some cartoonish, one dimensional villain. Like Steppenwolf in Justice League. You can argue against his logic, but he has a real motivation behind his actions, and comes across as a real person.


I was watching the Double Toasted review yesterday, and they mentioned how surprising it was that they had a character like that cry. Actually show a side other than generic tough guy. It reminds me of the Watchmen graphic novel, after Ozymandias succeeds and gives his monologue about his plan. He just sits there and you can see the enormity of what he's done hit him all at once. He was so busy making sure he succeeded, he never had time to really sit down and think about what success meant. I read that comic as a teen, and it was the first time I realized comics were capable of storytelling that really hit you on an emotional level:

He turns to his only intellectual equal, Dr. Manhattan, looking for validation that the choice he made was morally correct in the end. Only to be met with there is no end, stripping away the moral relativity he's cloaked himself in, so he could live with his actions. Then the scene ends with a brooding Ozymandias left to consider his choices, and the nature of morality. Never thought a comic book movie would be capable of capturing that same kind of emotion.
 
Thanos was great and imo nothing like the dorky comic book/cartoon iteration most of us know him by. Can't wait to see him throwdown with Cap/Thor/Hulk in the next one.

I'm on good terms with them, as far as I know. It just feels like other people attacked them for their opinions, and then I get lumped in with those people. Even though I haven't done that.
 
Just throwing it out there, IW is the best comic book movie ever made.

Man, I gotta rewatch this movie. I was watching clips of if it on YT and forgot how good it was.

It's pretty great. I was watching the RLM review the other day, and while they're not the biggest marvel fans even they were amazed they could cram so much stuff into the movie without it being a clusterfuck. It's incredibly ambitious.

I wish the movie was at least 20 minutes longer.
 
Just watched Ragnarok again.

Why wasn’t the Grand Master’s melt stick one of the infinity stones?

Is Hela actually dead and how would she fair against Thanos?

Is she in any way associated with Lady Death or one in the same?

She's of no relation to Lady Death. She's just the Asgardian Goddess of Death. She could probably hold her own for a little bit before Thanos crushed her.
 
is it bad that whenever I watch this I can’t help but think at least a few times “man. I could really use that tesseract. Would be a lot easier than loading all the kids up in the van all the time.”

I feel like I’d really fuck things up with the reality or time stone.

Mind stone would be ok if I didn’t constantly have to listen to people’s thoughts.
