Infinity War already lagging behind The Force Awakens in daily returns. On their respective 5th day, I.W. $305,864,408, TFA $325,438,146. It will be interesting to see I.W. drop percentage this weekend, and if they can make up deficits and gain some ground. Domestically, I don't think I.W. will surpass Avatar, and may even be hard pressed to catch up to Panther.

agreed. Holidays have more people off and able to see movies. Which makes this weekend the make or break in my opinion on whether the ground will be covered with people holding back to see I.W. But with some big flicks coming out in the next few weeks, and theater space becoming competitive, it could hurt momentum.

TFA came out in December, when most schools in the southern hemisphere have already started the summer vacations.

I don't think anything will ever beat Avatar unless some new age technology comes out and captivates the world where we can watch films in some kind of 4D or something.

I fully expect IW to cross over the 2 billion mark, 100% maybe even 2.1/2.2 billion.

So basically I think Superman was worried about all the destruction but what can he do? Just refuse to fight them? There was going to be a fight and the chances of him winning it period were slim considering Zod was a soldier. So he had no choice but to just try is hardest and not really worry about anyone else. He couldn't really do anything with Zod using those lasers non stop. He was going to kill people either way. I think he just said enough and snapped his neck.

With that in mind, I think Supes should have jumped up, got the hooks in and dragged him down for the RNC. With the dude’s power,Zod would have been out cold in seconds.

Rookie move.

Dude... you're not even accounting for China and Russia market yet. Assuming most of them haven't bootlegged the movie and watched it already (and even if they did) they're going to watch this movie en masse. That's an easy additional 100 million that's unaccounted for on opening week I think. Infinity is technically way ahead but we shall see. My guess is the returns in China are going to be pretty damn good as well. Black Panther did $63 mil in its first week in China and it got shitted on for being "too black" - reviews in china were in the low 6 out of 10. With the amazing reviews its getting worldwide China and Russia are going to be watching this movie as well.

Too bad it is a far superior movie to the force awakens and light years better than avatar.

So it sounds like DC problem is they need to start slow and take 10 years to build up characters. But will they?
