Ticket is purchased for the first showing tomorrow morning. Watching Doctor Strange now to catch up on the MCU movies. Can't wait.

Question

I have seen almost all the marvel movies. Only ones I haven’t seen are Spider-Man homecoming and black panther

I should be ok with skipping them right?

Having only seen them myself about two weeks ago I’d say “probably” but I haven’t seen Infinity War yet.

Homecoming has no direct connection to IW. As long as you're familiar enough with Peter Parker/Spiderman, you don't have to watch Homecoming.

Black Panter would give you a knowledge of Wakanda and some of the supporting cast in the major battle scene at the end, like M'Baku and Shuri. But it's not essential.

@Dragonlordxxxxx Going to see it tomorrow afternoon, is Black Panther essential viewing before watching it? Watching Thor Ragnarok this evening but missed Black Panther in the cinema and won't get to watch ot before tomorrow
Yeah, agreed with what @KnightTemplar said. For me, I think BP is essential because it introduces various supporting characters that will show up in Infinity War, makes it more enjoyable. But if you have some basic understanding of Wakanda and some of its characters like Shuri and the Dora Milaje from the comic books, you'll be fine. Besides, if you really can't see BP now, you have no choice to might as well dive into Infinity War.

Same answer as KT. Besides, I think you're already well-versed in comic book movie/TV culture to easily understand what is happening in Infinity War.

I just got out of a showing

I will say that it is probably the most amazing comic film to grace our theaters. Its epic beyond words. This is really what comic films are all about. I read some complaints about the story and there wasnt much depth but i think that is hogwash. THis movie has depth built up for the last 10 years. If you go in never seeing any other marvel film you might think wow this is just an action flick. this is the conclusion of everything you have ever watched from marvel, if you need depth go watch the other films. Fuck a trilogy this is a decade of films all connected.

i was thoroughly impressed by everything. 10/10 for me...the most epic comic film ive ever seen. Truly going to be hard to top this ever. Marvel or DC
and i will be seeing this many times. shit i found out the some of the neighborhood kids werent seeing it so im actually going to be paying for their tickets. Every little kid needs to see this.

Any complaints i have were very minor like;

1. Thought it was weird they made it a point that he had to clench his hand to make the glove work.
2.almost getting the glove off with all those crystals was dumb. he should be untouchable by this point
3. Thanos doing this becasue of his home planet dying off was dumb compared to what he is in the comics. he destroyed his home planet
4.banner and war machine heads looked weird in their suits with no helmet

but i was able to not be disappointed by any of this because thanos was such a badass in this film. Normally changing shit would erk me. Like that dumb fucking movie Logan that resembles nothing of wolverine or anything that has ever been written about him. The russo bros made sure thanos was a destructive force.

So many good battles and lots of cool surprises. cant wait to see it again and again.

I shouldn’t have waited to be able to go see this with my wife on Sunday, I should have just gone to a late show by myself tonight after the kids are in bed

You really need to watch Civil War and every movie after to understand everything in A:IW imo.

I hope there's a poster out there (that is not a hater for this genre) that hasn't seen a single MCU movie except for Infinity War. I'd like to hear his comments on the movie and is it still enjoyable despite having no clue who these characters are or what the previous stories were.
