You should watch the Thor/Rocket scene again. Rocket is very mature in noticing Thor's problem and helping him fix it. And then giving him an eye from his butt. I said they're not going to be completely mature. But it's important they have maturing moments. There were opportunities for Quill in IW but they just went back to him being a hothead, which I find dumb and lazy.

Rocket is tactical guy #2. Peter Parker had the guantlet off but Peter Quill just needed to be stupid. Everyone knew what Thanos wanted to do, and everyone thought they knew what Quill wanted to do. But it turns out Quill is dummy. Peter Parker is Peter #1.
apart from the Gamora storyline there wasnt really any room for character growth in IW for him. that took up most of his screen time

Yeah I was cool with the reboot just to get Spidey in the MCU, but I was thinking ugh another version of Spider-Man. But gotta hand it to them, they're casting is always on point. He plays a GREAT teenage parker, and is young enough to continue in these movies and take on a leadership role when Steve and Tony are gone. That's the direction it's gone in the comics, with Spidey becoming a respected leader. I'd love to see a movie version of that with Spidey leading the avengers. Get Luke Cage in there too.

Oh man would I love to see that. And you’re right the casting was perfect like usual and the kid makes you root for him.

Mike I would love to see a MCU version of the spider verse and show how important a peter Parker type character is in different universes. Plus seeing all those different costume designs on screen would be such a sight to see. I also love Miles Morales and would love to see a live action version of Pete and Miles interacting.

Xandar is fake place #1. It's higher than Wakanda, Asgard, and Ego's face.

That's where he should have dealt with the emotional impact of her not death. He also got to show his tactical chops in the Avengers vs GOTG fight.

I loved GOTG 1...didn't hate 2,but definitely liked 1 was better.
I'm gonna rewatch em both

And yea, Marvel really knocks it out the park with casting.

From a business perspective these movies are fascinating, and will be studied for some time. The level of planning and precision that went into creating the mcu is unprecedented. It's incredibly impressive that they've manged to create such a cohesive vision over so any films, with no outright bad films at all.

I have a buddy who puts AGE OF ULTRON in his top five. He's dead mother fucking wrong.

It’s never been done before and most likely will never be duplicated by another company.

As we see now DC and the newly run Lucasfilm is struggling to do so.

What marvel and Feige did is unheard of. Feige is so important that he now only answers to CEO Bob Iger.

Marvel cinematic universe would be garbage if Feige wasn’t there and Ike Perlmutter got final say on the universe.

They would make it and it would make 1 billion dollars like it was nothing.
Right? I was just saying in another post how amazing all of this is. They turned the GOTG, Ant-man, and Dr. Strange into household names. I never would have believed they'd be ambitious enough to create a universe with so much depth, including real and fleshed out cosmic and magic settings. They really swung for the fences and took some risks. Now that they made the team with a talking tree and Raccoon cool, everyone acts like that was a no brainer.

how could he have dealt with her death any different? he is used to saving the day..... he just turned up to find out he was too late and his GF was already dead. His reaction was perfectly reasonable given the circumstances

I think it’s a combination of the casting, the love of the characters, and the planning process like you mentioned in another post.

Lol top 5 is absurd, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is the weakest of the trilogy, but it was good. Ultron should have been a lot more dangerous, but that's my only real complaint about that movie. Marvel villains have tended to suck on film, so I was really glad they went all out with Thanos.

It's nuts because with over a decade of buildup, a lot of people said this would be disappointing. But it just blew everyone at my theater away. I haven't seen a crowd so into a movie in quite some time. The theater was absolutely packed too. Felt like I went on opening day. This movie is gonna be an absolute juggernaut.
Saw it in the theater 2x and watched a stream the 3rd time with the crowd laughing constantly and no one responded to captain America any time.

They did react to thor coming back with storm breaker.

I need to rewatch GOTG 2.
I only saw it once and was a bit disappointed with it, but i need to give it another go. I loved pretty much every scene that had the Guardians in IW.
Can't say it'll be the same for you but Guardians vol 2 was much much better for me upon rewatching it. I think I like it better than the first.

First movie is all about unapologetic while introducing the characters. Second is all about tugging on your heart-strings. Most of the characters have a pretty satisfying emotional arc aside from Drax and Baby Groot (who's not just the comic relief, I still don't understand how this film made me feel protective towards a CGI bonsai tree).

Tell me this scene doesn't hit you right in the feels:

Yeah by all rights with this level of corporate involvement, these movies shouldn't be anywhere near this good. I can't believe people bitch and complain and say these movies should be better. Like.... really?

We've seen with the DCU how easy it is to mess this up. DC's movies just make me sad.

He was willing to shoot her in the face and actually tried. He should have taken that experience and refocused into not killing trillions of people. Also, he punched Thanos in the face. He blasted his dad apart but just pistol whips Thanos? Weaksauce with a side of extra weak. Alternate version #2: Drax punches Thanos in the face. Because it's been thoroughly presented to us that Drax would do that.

I actually hate that thanos has to activate the glove. It doesnt ruin anything for me but i thought that was very dumb. He doesnt have web shooters. These crystals are in him and he just has to think and it is
I liked this actually . I like that they made sure to emphasize that the gauntlet is a tool. He had to close his fist to use it.

Him just simply wearing it makes him too powerful. There's nothing you can do to get it off if all he has to do is think thoughts . That would result in an unrealistic conclusion on how the heroes end up defeating him.
They could even say that the troll blacksmith intentionally made it that way to give somebody a chance of taking him out

Yeah my theater was into it. They popped loud each time an Avenger made their first appearance and during the set pieces, and almost all of the jokes were landing.
